Cardinals and Carpenter look good. Up 5-1 in the bottom of the 8th. Looks like we're going to lead this series 1-0.

Wasn't home to see it, but that's exactly what the Cards needed from Carpenter. Now if they can just win ONE of the next three and force a game five, I like their chances with Carp.

Scratch that, Carp is scheduled to go again in game four on Sunday. Dunno if I like that or not. Of course, I will if they're down 2-1 at the time. :wacko:

Yeah, I think the only reason they're doing that is because they have Wednesday off, and then Friday off in this series. He'll get almost 5 days of rest. Maybe we'll just sweep them with Weaver and then Suppan!

How silly is that scheduling? Game 4 is on Sunday in St. Louis, then Game 5 is Monday in San Diego. :wacko:

I was home and got to watch the game yesterday. :dance2:

Of course Pujols is the man, but Belliard made a great play with the bases loaded in the 7th (I think) to prevent any runs. That was awesome!:rock:

That was pretty sweet, got to see that at least on the highlights.

Edmonds came through with a big hit as well. Gonna need more of that from him and Rolen.

Based on the box score (since I am at work) it looks like Weaver is pitching a good one so far. One hitter in the bottom of the 4th.

Weaver did good enough. He just works so slow out there you think he's in trouble. :wacko: But overall he did good enough to win.

Cards go up 2-0 with Suppan and Carpenter to pitch game three and four (if necessary). :rock2:

The Cardinals are playing some good baseball right now. I didn't expect them to hit David Wells very well, so I was happy with 2 runs. Like I heard once, if it has a pulse and is left-handed, the St. Louis Cardinals can't hit it.

We need Suppan to complete the sweep on Saturday, and the Dodgers to beat the Mets. We own the Dodgers this year!

The bullpen has been very goos as well... of course, this is just the Padres, but still. Johnson has had two great outings so far. Wainwright doing his thing as well.

Belliard can play some defense now... he'll swing at anything, but he can field it. :rock2:

We have a better chance at completing the sweep than LA has to win one game against the Mets.

Weelll, that sucked.

Young was on it today.

Duncan had quite a day in leftfield. Encarnacion continues to tip toe around in right. I swear every game I see he just non-chalantly goes after the ball when it's hit down into the corner. Just let Edmonds roam the whole outfield.

Carp goes tomorrow to try and close it out.

Duncan was absolutely terrible in the outfield yesterday. Chris Carpenter can't win them all.

Well he better win tonight! I don't want them to push their luck with Weaver in game five... oye.
