Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

I remember that game. It was Joe Girardi(I think) that tearfully announced the game wouldn't be played and all the fans were booing and throwing stuff.

It was just a couple of years ago that another Cards player Darryl Kile died.

I was at that game. It was going to be my first game at Wrigley field. I had killer seats in foul territory in left field. What a weird turn of events that was.

I still haven't seen a game at Wrigley.

Wow, I was wondering where John Rodriguez was. He's in Memphis batting .188.

Ryan Ludwick is playing great so far down there... Batting .348 with 7 HR and 29 RBI through 24 games. I wonder what their plans are for him?

Ankiel also has 7 HR and 25 RBI.

Wonder why the hell neither of them has been given a shot? Maybe they could help the anemic offense.

If an outfielder is needed in a call-up, La Russa has said it would be Ludwick. I kind of wish they would send down Schumaker, cut Preston Wilson, and call up Ludwick and Ankiel... but that's just my opinion. I know Schumaker has had a couple good games, so I may be wrong about him.

It didn't go too well since Wells stepped on the field.

Christ that 2nd inning was special. Mench hits a slow roller toward third, Wells fielded it and proceeded to throw it in the general direction of a fan down the right field line. That big lug Mench then gets halfway to 3rd before Wells even throws a pitch to steal it. To top it off, he balked Mench home. Oye.

Yeah, Cards lose 7-1. Actually out-hit the Brewers for what that's worth; nothing.

10-14
