Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

It has been a tough year for the Cards hasn't it? Mulder is injured, Carpenter is injured, Suppan is a Brewer, all of a sudden Albert can not hit, Edmonds, Rolen and company are getting old and so is their drunk manager LaRussa.:lolabove: ATL gonna win it all!

Make that 9-3. Duncan just hit a HR.

Wainwright had a decent start (for him), only gave up 2 runs. 9 hits though over 5.1 innings. I'd hate to see his BAA.

Cards win 9-4

Eckstein (back in the leadoff spot), Duncan, Encarnacion, Rolen, and Miles all had 2+ hits. Hopefully the bats are warming up.

17-25

Ian Snell (4-2, 2.76) vs. Kip Wells (1-8, 6.75) tonight as Wells tries to extend his losing streak to 8 games.

Hey hey, Cardinals win! 5-3.

Wells with his best start since mid-April. 7 innings, 5 hits, 1 walk, 1 earned. Hooray.

18-25

Yep.

Eckstein and Pujols are also hitting well over the last week or so. They're batting .500 and .448 respectively over that span.

Tom Gorzelanny (5-2, 2.43) vs. Braden Looper (5-3, 3.27) as the Cards go for what has to be their first sweep of the season.

Cards up 2-0 after 2.

RBI hits for Molina and Miles.

Molina now has a 15 game hit streak and has his BA over .300. :rock2:

Izzy came in and closed it out.

Cards win 3-1 to complete the sweep. :rock2:

Washington comes to town for the weekend.

19-25

That was actually the Cardinals' second sweep of the season. Both have came against the Pirates.

Micah Bowie (0-2, 3.98) vs. Anthony Reyes (0-7, 5.84)

Cardinals will try to win a game that Reyes start for the first time tonight. If you just take away Reyes and Wells' putrid records and replace them with just .500 pitchers, the Cards wouldn't be too bad off right now.

Anthony Reyes sucks at life.

5-2 Nationals, bottom 7. Cards have 2 on with 1 out.

Pujols and Edmonds have hit solo HRs for the only runs so far.

Cards tacked on another one in the 8th before Molina squashed the rally by ground into a doubleplay.

5-4 to the 9th
