Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

Nice. :rock2: Hopefully the Brewers will continue to back up to the field.

Brad Thompson (3-1, 4.72) vs. Aaron Cook (4-1, 4.11) tonight in the series finale.

Cards win 7-3. Hooraay.

Look at Brad Thompson! Now 4-1 on the year after giving up only 2 runs in 7.1 innings. Very impressive.

22-29

Adam Wainwright (4-4, 5.59) vs. Roy Oswalt (6-4, 3.36) tonight in the first of three in Houston.

Wainwright is 2-0 vs. Houston this year... hopefully that trend continues.

1-1 to the 8th

Pujols scored on an error by Berkman and Carlos Lee drove in his 49th run of the year for Houston. Christ how I wish St. Louis would've signed him.

This new reliever for Houston is a real winner. Hits Kennedy with a pitch then throws a wild pitch to advance Kennedy to 2nd.

Cards win 8-1.

All of the offense basically in the 9th inning. Better late than never.

Rolen left the game with a hamstring injury. They're droppin' like flies.

Wainwright with another solid start against Houston. Good to see.

23-29

Kip Wells (2-9, 6.20) vs. Chris Sampson (4-5, 3.44) this afternoon at 3:55EST on Fox. Hopefully it'll be on here instead of the Yankees and Red Sox... again.

Cardinals lose 8-3.

Wells falls to 2-10. Pretty sure he's the first guy to lose 10 games in 2007.

Wells' line for today: 5 innings, 7 hits, 3 walks, 6 runs, 5 earned (the one unearned run was because of his error), and 2 HRs. Pathetic.

23-30

I feel for you, Tid. I looked at the pitching matchups for the Reds-Cards series, St. Louis lists TBA as their starter in the first two games. That's never a good sign.

Brad Thompson and Todd Wellemeyer will probably be the starters for those days. Thompson hasn't pitched too bad in his starts while Wellemeyer has only made one.

Anthony Reyes was sent to the minors last Sunday.

Braden Looper (6-4, 3.65) vs. Jason Jennings (0-1, 2.12) already underway today.

1-0 Cards in the 4th. Eckstein led off with a HR.

Cards tack on 2 more in the 5th thanks to a solo HR by Encarnacion and a RBI double by Bennett.

3-0, top 6
