Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

Anthony Reyes has made 2 starts at Triple A Memphis since being sent down, and he's pitched pretty well...

0-1, 1.93 ERA, 14 innings, .86 WHIP.

Cards up 4-3 so far in the 7th...

Solo HRs by Duncan, Pujols, and Stinnett. Stinnett also added a RBI single.

Another bad start by Wells. At least he didn't give up a boat load of runs tonight.

Johnson relieves Wells and promptly gives up the lead. Single, double, two run single. Still no outs.

Johnson is yanked after another RBI single.

Franklin gives up a double to the first guy he faces. 2nd and 3rd, still no outs, 3 runs so far.

3 pitchers, 6 runs, 7 hits, and 38 pitches later, the top of the 7th is mercifully over.

9-4, bottom 7

Ange;s take game one 10-6.

Obviously, the horrible 7th inning was the difference.

Pujols went 2-5 with the HR and 2 RBI. Looks like he's back to normal after a poor first month, month and a half.

26-32

Cards lose 9-3.

Looper has become the kind of starter I feared he'd probably be from the beginning; terrible.

26-33

6-4 Cards, bottom 5, still no outs.

Pujols with another HR, three-run shot this time.

Eckstein picked up hos 1000th career hit earlier in the inning.

Brad Thompson (4-1, 4.56) vs. Brian Bannister (2-3, 3.33) tonight as the Cards open up a series with the Royals.

Royals win 8-1.

Ludwick hit a pinch-hit HR for the only run.

Heck of a game out of Thompson tonight. Not.

27-34

Cards win 7-3.

Wainwright pitched 8 innings of 1 hit ball. Excellent.

Johnson tried his best to give up the lead, surrendering a three run homer in the 9th.

Pujols went 2-4 with 3 RBI.

28-34

Kip Wells (2-10, 6.33) vs. Scott Elarton (2-2, 7.34) tonight in the finale.

Looks to be a real pitcher's duel.
