Omari needs to be suspended (he apologizes)

There's nothing questionable about hitting someone at the knees and making a tackle. It's not illegal and it was the only play he had to make a sack. Football can be a dangerous sport. But there's nothing questionable about the play. God bless the young man that got injured.
It is illegal that's why they threw a flag. Ever since Brady about 10 years ago or longer.

"Stupid actions have consequences," except for Omari Thomas apparently who deserves no repercussions for his behavior?
Where have I said omari gets no consequences? The people were pushing their way thru the entire ut team and staff. It appears omari was also not the first to try and redirect them. He should get a stern talking to and no dessert

It's got to be a little more than that unless the guy really hit Omari.

I'm sure you taught your kids to not do stupid things like rush the field but I hope you also taught them not to deck someone who runs into them in a stupid crowd.

If he was seriously defending himself, I'll listen.

If he got jostled and decked someone, c'mon...... is that what you teach your kids?

He didn't deck the guy. He shoved him after he ran through an older guy on staff and tried the same with Amari. Watch the vid.

He shoved a guy who was pushing his way thru the entire team. It also appears the fan ran thru/into several UT staff members before reaching omari. The fan should not have been surprised by the response. If he was then he's an idiot

Too much common sense here pj….. work on it

Again, is Omari ACTUALLY felt threatened or felt staff was being threatened by this guy, I'll listen.

If you're just pissed and lost composure and overreacted, own it. He's a leader on the team. Own it.

I'd allow staff and Omari to tell their side and then I'd come out (as Saban did) and talk about it whether I disciplined "sufficiently" or not.

Acting like this is nothing isn't going to work. Heupel will have to address it. Get the facts and state your case....... and expect the same reaction Saban got.

This isn't good no matter how you slice it.

Per the players the Ark punk was using bad racial slurs. why he was pushed out of way.
I don’t know, but I’m skeptical. I can’t imagine that punk using slurs against a ton of diverse players and him walking out alive - even amongst his own Arkansas fans.

People are stupid. But are they really that stupid? Maybe if they were trying to get this outcome, but even then….

Maybe I have more faith in humanity than I should.

“racial slurs” is almost always used as an excuse.

The usual Vols player haters condemning our own players before knowing the facts. If he was being an a-hole, I agree - BYE, and never come back. But not knowing the facts, there are questions. Did the fan do something prior to the push? Throw an object? Stomp Omari's foot? Hurl an insult? Spit on him?

These days people's behavior has become so despicable, I feel at times they need a flatiron skillet to the face. You Karens who assault people due to skin tone, parking their cars in their own parking spaces, you got people who think it is OK to lay their hands on you for just minding your own business. Just look at society today, and our so-called leaders, and pillars of community. So what happened before the Omari shove? We don't know, until/unless Josh tells us. But we have fans swift and eager to be judge, jury, and executors. Who then turn around and behave in actions as bad or worse.
In omaris shoes it doesn’t matter. Right or wrong he had to be the bigger man here and get to the locker room. He chose not to. Now there will be consequences. This is already on national news. Expect not to see him for a few games.

If you really want to stop field rushing, there’s a simple fix

Your fans rush the field, you forfeit

Problem solved

(I really don’t think it’s a problem though, in general)

So, if I'm the visitor, and the rule is the home team loses if they storm the field, bring everyone we can to Sanford Stadium and after GA wins, storm the field.

I like it.

No hiding this one. Will be interesting to see what the staff does. They follow the Saban school of thought without having the Bama history to back them up, things are going to get dicey.

If they punish him, it should be commiserate to the offense and not some “well we better make an example out of him for the country”.

There's also the locker room after the loss. Saban was likely sensitive to how punishing Burton would look to his players and Heupel will be also with Omari.

He has to address it publicly AND privately with the team and this is one instance where "coachspeak" to the media is a good thing.
