Candy's opt out. Weak sisters opt out.
Lol quite possibly the dumbest take on this topic ever. You are obviously not a person that has ever had the potential to earn a lot of money based on your health. It's literally a meaningless exhibition. The only people that care are you idiots

I am cool with the Coach handling it and deciding these things. He's going to know what's best for team chemistry. Are we so petty that we care about some kid getting an orange bowl swag bag? Come on.

Then give them a swag bag, I don't care about the swag bag. But if a player doesn't want to fulfill the responsibilities of their scholarship agreement with the school, then the school should have some sort of recourse. There has to be some recourse.

Again I will let the coach do what he wants. If he thinks having them on the sideline and paying for their travel adds value then why fight it. He knows better than us.

Orange Bowl has traditional value but if it's not in this year's playoff rotation it's just another bowl. I fully understand anyone opting out that is projected in first 2-3 rounds of the draft. An injury in what now is essentially a spring practice game puts perhaps big $$$ at risk. If it's one of the playoff games yes go ahead and play for the championship. Otherwise I don't fault a player for whatever decision they make. I look at this game as a good trip to Miami with good weather for fans, extra practice for returning players in prep for next year and a showcase of next year's team. You don't want to get embarrassed a la South Carolina but otherwise does it make a big flip who wins. And yes I'll still be pulling as hard as anyone for UT to win.

I’ve heard Hyatt, Bru and Fant and Tillman won’t be playing

Bru is coming back next season so why would he set out unless he is still injured? Tillman and Byatt sitting out wouldn’t surprise me. Fant? I may be wrong but I think he will play

Unfortunately true. He had a truly spectacular career as a Vol - something like 59 TDs with only 4 INTs. That’s an incredible stat.
I'm sure some on here will find fault with those stats.

My immediate thought is Tillman might given his injury issues this season.

That said, all these guys on the roster have never been to a marquee bowl game and for the ones leaving, this is their last chance. So I wouldn't be shocked if either Hyatt and / or Tillman decide to play. If this were the Music City Bowl, it would be different, but the Orange Bowl is a big honor.

If I had a first round grade, I wouldn’t play in anything outside of the playoffs and natty game

Hell second round. So many people here have no clue the hell many of these players are escaping. I don't either. I do try to have perspective. The ability to finally protect family is far bigger than love for UT in the bowl.

Read somewhere that Hyatt got a first round grade. Pick 30 IIRC

Grades haven’t been issued. Won’t be until after players submit. Jalen is in several first round mock drafts if that’s what you were referring to.
