The problem with your prediction is you’re assuming we win all the ones we should. Almost no team does that. Outside of Oregon you’d be hard pressed to find teams this year that have. And that’s the normal. Most years, the vast majority of teams drop at least one they shouldn’t

Sure, but when talking about exceeding expectations, the question isn’t “did you do better than fan x thought”.

We just clinched a spot in the playoffs. We beat Bama, Florida. And we were competitive against GA, in GA. After that tough loss, We needed to blow out UTEP and beat a pretty decent Vandy team to clinch a spot. We did that!! Finished up 10-2 in the toughest conference in the country.

And STILL people be like “Yeah but…if we had a better coach and a better QB we would be undefeated! I expect excellence dammit”.

I agree 8188. Great season!!! I’m celebrating tonight. It’s great to be a Tennessee Vol! Thank you Coach Heup!!! We’ve waited a long time for this.

We return a lot of this team next year as well. Cooper Mays and the defensive line losses will hurt but most of the rest will return.

Overachieving or not, there are times we could have and should have been better. I'm glad we're playoff bound, but we have a lot of room to improve and that's on the coaches to fix.

Well, its actually a good thing. If you thought this was the ceiling and the best we could ever do, I'd be concerned.

Or put another way, room for improvement and we still went 10-2 and made the playoffs. Interestingly, our 4 year talent per one survey that includes portal transfers is 13th in the country. I guess we slightly over achieved?

If we had a more experienced QB it's not hard to see this team being undefeated. Next year should be really good. I'm glad we made the 1st ever 12 team playoff. We deserve it as a blue blood football program.

Imagine if we had just beaten Arkansas like we should have. We would be in the SECCG playing for an auto bid. It can ALWAYS be better. Never settle keep pushing for more!

Nico still has a ways go to (see today's int for example), but his play has definitely improved over the course of the season, and his WRs have not always helped him enough. I am very excited to think how good he might get next year. He is getting there, for sure.
