Penn State scandal (merged)

Again, you guys dont have a clue what you're talking about. I agree he "could" have done more, but as usual you guys are missing the bigger story here.

I am quite sure that this whole episode going back to 98 is absolutely abhorrent to Paterno, I've also been to State College and I doubt many around here have. Not much there but the university. I also doubt that the subject of pedophilia is directly in Joe's wheelhouse. Its pretty obvious that JP wanted to stay as far away from this as possible and allow the administration to get their hands dirty if necessary. Now, is that doing everything.... no. Do I believe that JP intentionally avoided getting his hands dirty.... yes. But still, this is a massive coverup, bigger than a lot of people recognize and your focus on stringing up Paterno is all wrong. Sorry.

False. I'm not suggesting Joe Pa should be "strung up" I am saying that the man did not meet the moral and ethical standards that he and Penn St. have clung so tightly to over the last half century.

I'm not saying Joe did anything legally wrong, I'm saying that the man blatently turned a blind eye to something that is so heinous and unfathomable that it's hard to think about.

He deserved to lose his job, he deserves to be blasted in the media, he does not deserve to go to jail.

He enabled this man to continue these unbelievable actions and that is something he will have to live with for the rest of his life.

lol I didnt say that, if thats what you interpreted then I hate to inform you....

I believe I used the phrase "compromise" as in his job. None of you guys know what you would have done in McQyueary's position, none of you. Sorry.

Man you are all over the place. I don't know why any of us continue to argue with you.

You are a complete moron. We have the damn Grand Jury report (that I showed you last night and you ignored) that states what Paterno testified to. That is enough to be fired for. Sure, we might find out even worse things and uncover more details, but there will be nothing else come out that would support Paterno. If what he told the Grand Jury is false, then he could be charged with perjury, which would also be a fireable offense.

OK, no argument there. However, and its entirely possible that Paterno concealed or mislabled the truth in his testimony since it conflicts with McQueary's statement, but you dont have a friggin clue if thats the reason he was fired. The law is pretty clear here on what Paterno was required to report and to whom, thats not why he was fired.

More from the guy who wrote the April column that predicted this mess:

"McQ dad a key. He was there when McQ talked to Joe. Knows exactly what was said. Cud catch Joe in perjury. Wont let son cover 4 Joe."

"Thats Y McQ is still coaching. Once he's out, he's gonna talk. PSt trying 2control that as long as they can."

This is going to be the biggest scandal since Watergate when this all said and done.

He's just not all there. Hope it's nothing life threatening. Seriously. If he just had a wreck and half of his brain removed I'm going to feel bad for a second.

Lets just pray he isn't in a position that actually involves making important decisions, like what brand of coffee to brew at work.

So against the law isnt banned?

What in the hell is the point of what you're asking? Let's make it real clear for you: A SERIAL CHILD RAPIST HUNG OUT THERE EVERYDAY FOR 10 YEARS AFTER HE WAS CAUGHT ASS RAPING A 10 YEAR OLD BOY.

Also, I'm just going to say it.

Odds are Sandusky blows his brains out before his 12/7 court hearing.

I don't know about that. He's been spotted working out and at sporting goods stores wearing PSU gear, looks like he is totally oblivious to all this. I would think he would have to understand the situation to get to that point. He seems to be enjoying life, which makes him even that more of a sicko.

I agree. He doesn't seem to be concerned about it.

You have got to be kidding me...

"Son, I know you thought you did the right thing by calling the police when you saw that boy being raped in the shower. But because you didn't notify JoePa first, I'm afraid we're going to have to fire you."

Exactly! and my next call would've been to every major news outlet on the east coast.
