Penn State football coach Joe Paterno says he's disappointed university President Graham Spanier has canceled the team's weekly press conference, without explanation, this morning. The press conference was supposed to begin in an hour, at 12:30 p.m., and Spanier canceled it without conferring with the coach, Paterno said.

Police chief who's either directly elected or subject to firing by an elected mayor/city council has to decide whether to act on the report of a single low-income community member and risk killing the golden goose of PSU football for perhaps a decade or more.I would think parents of any of the victims after the one's who mom called in 1998 the campus police have every reason to bank rupt the entire program. Since when do police officers not look into a mother's claim that there child was just molested?
The whole campus should be in major trouble for ruining lifes of multiple families. Penn State only function in this world is to educate people. Their lucky if they are allowed to that imo.

What's your point? That's his job. If he is incapable of investigating an allegation because it concerns the football team, then he shouldn't be the chief of police.

Exactly. The chief of police is supposed to protect and serve, not, use little boys as sacrificial lambs to appease the football Gods of Penn State. Besides, if this were dealt with when it first happened, there wouldn't be nearly the $hit storm that we are seeing now. JoePa would have gotten rid of the pervert and would likely maintain legend status too. The program would have come out smelling like roses compared to what it will smell like after this storm. Oh, and countlesss other young boys would not have been raped. Let's not forget that little detail.
