Florida gets blown out and they’ve basically already fired their coach.

Jones gets his ass handed to him by Florida, Georgia and bama and we’ve not heard a peep out of the administration.

That, fellow vol fans, is the difference between an organization that is committed to winning, and one that is clearly not.

Hard to argue with that.

Maybe Currie will make a great hire. But I have ZERO confidence. There is, literally, nothing to feel positive about regarding our football program.

Our crappy administrations over the last decade are setting us up to become the Minnesota of the SEC-a program with past glory who's now an afterthought.

I believe it’s about showing the masses who’s in charge boasting about how they can make money regardless of wins and losses. They will not move until we walk with our dollars and support, but 97,000 will show up just to boast about it.

The stands will be full next Saturday and it won’t matter. I doubt he will be fired this year. Program is making more now than ever, educating the students is more important to them not football. Hard to argue against it, if UT has a good year then awesome if not oh well. It’s just a game.

Truth!!!!!!!!! This administration doesn't deserve fans or their $. They charge steak prices and serve crap and tell you its steak. That must end or it will just be same ole loser program (last 10-15 yrs)

I heard the other day that with the success of bammer that they are having record breaking academic success. Draws more smart kids when football is good

There’s a down side to that though. The ONLY sticking point to Florida landing Urban Meyer was that UF had only given Zook 3 years, really less than 3 because he was canned with a few games left in his 3rd year. That’s actually why Muschamp got a 4th year. Coaches don’t like programs with a history of quick trigger fingers. They feel like everyone will be too impatient to withstand the rebuild. And if you think about it, that’s sorta what we’re seeing play out with Mac.

Never said UT doesn’t have academic success, it hasn’t gotten bad enough students won’t come to the school, and it likely will never come to that, UT doesn’t need great football to make money, they just need enough to keep it interesting.

So you keep him coaching because its so embarrassing? Doesn't sound like cause to me. I hate to tell Florida's administration, but they were all lying last year with the whole stupid hurricane fiasco, what's the big deal?

Does TN admin have the same "out" in Butch's contract that FL has? Reports are they are looking at firing Mac for lying about receiving death threats. Didn't Butch lie about Shuttle falling on a helmet? I would really like to start a thread with the question. Someone with over 100 posts please post this question as a thread starter. Now do I think it would help a future coach want to come here (To think that the admin is looking for an out in your contract)? Don't think it helps FL's case for finding another coach, especially since Mac was east champs last 2 years. However, if the language is in there, Mac signed it and Mac's lawyers should have protected him more. But back to the original queastion, does TN have the same grounds as FL?

He was hired to fix the offense develop quarterbacks and he's done none of that

Hell he let the one good quarterback we had transfer

Also he's let the talent on defense fall off a cliff. We haven't been able to land any stud DTs or LBs since he's been here

They're being cheap and obviously don't care about winning. If they did care, they wouldn't waste time looking for cause. They'd fire him today and sign Kelly in order to save their recruiting class before Mac can do any further damage to it. Just get some deep pocketed boosters to write a check then step aside, shut up and get out of the way so they can grab Kelly.

If they don't make these moves today or tomorrow at the latest, they just don't give a damn about football and winning and the AD needs to go.

Florida will go out and hire a star no matter the cost. Tennessee? They keep their crappy coach or go bargain shopping at best. UT was the most profitable program in SEC last year. The most.....and they are concerned with bargain shopping?
