How terrible of a father!

Has a son and daughter in Knoxville where he knows their dads legacy.

Yet their father flys across country through the night with his new family and trumps them up and down the Knoxville airport terminal.

His Knoxville kids thinking that daddy may finally be in their life, instead of living in California, and come back and all these lonely years spent without their daddy could all be forgiven when his kids go back to school and gets a little recognition bc their father is being talked about as a hero.

But no. To make things worse and to spit in his kids face once again and to have them be reminded their father has no interest in being around while his kids grows...

He declines the job which was high paying.

Now instead if Tee caring about the comments being made. His kids have to hear them and be punished in school for their dads arrogance.

Now all his kids see is their dad parading around the country on airplanes, turning down a Tennessee offer that could bring his dad into their lives (not just a check on the mail) and fly his family back out to LA.

Wow.

Sorry Martin kids!

Edited: when I read he ha 2 kids! Not just one in Knoxville!
What do you know about Tee and his relationship with his son. Some of you are childish dribble. Dribbling fanatics who know nothing but think their keyboard opinions are gold and based on fact. Its dribble.

If we had thrown enough $$$ at Tee, he would be here. It IS business. I'm so sick of coaches turning us down.

I don't think it is good to have one or two non-coordinators to make significantly more than the other assistants. That always leads to hurt feelings and, more importantly, hurts the team concept of the coaching staff.

If you are standing on that proverbial ledge from this ordeal then please jump off. We won't miss you.

If you are saying we should never offer him another job again you are butthurt and stupid. Find that ledge also and jump off.

Tee has done more for this football program than any of you. Turning this job down was probably one of the toughest decisions he has ever had to make.

Perfectly said. Didn't the guy pass on the Alabama job to stay at Kentucky? Obviously the guy is somewhat loyal.

I don't.

Could it be dribble? Maybe.

Could it be a Christmas kick straight to the fibers of his children's souls who thought their daddy was going to be in their lives finally and have a little pride at school? Maybe.

Are my opinions Gold? Yes.

Good luck to him. It had to be a hard decision. You never know what kind of deal Kiffin made with him. Better in LA than in Bamastan.

Purely speculation on my part, but if I had a son by another woman, not sure my wife would be up for moving across the country to be closer to him and his mom.
Just sayin. Purely speculative. But better thought out than dumbasses blaming Dooley and Jones.

and that would be incredibly selfish of her

Can someone post a picture of his kids faces this morning when they received the news their daddy wasn't coming home. But got a Merry Christmas card instead.

It read: Merry Christmas, y'all.

Tee Martin

Ok. I'll stop.

Really? Just because he doesn't want to make a lateral career move to a less-prominent place? Professionally, he's making the right choice. If folks want to pout about it, that's fine, but he's making a sound decision.

If his career as a coach continues to develop and another opportunity pops up that makes sense for both sides, I would be delighted to have him. And, I think the Big Orange Nation would accept him with open arms.

Just to throw it out there....Kiffin's seat is getting rather warm in LA. Another year remotely like the one he had this year and that whole staff might be looking for a new job. Not to say we are a picture of stability here lately, but USC isn't exactly calm waters these days.

There is a risk in both positions.

Don't worry fellows. It's all part of the plan to take down Kiffin. What better way to insure that he crumbles than to have a Tennessee alumn on the inside.

Seems none of you have ex-wives. You want to stay as far away from them as possible. If I had a ex in Tennessee I wouldn't come back either, oh wait, I do, that's one reason I left all those years ago.
