Not saying that, but if he wanted to be here and she didn't, (I'm assuming all of this) then he needs to put his foot down.
I don't blame Tee in the slightest. From a strictly professional point of view, it would be viewed as a step down. Why would anyone - from a professional point of view - make a lateral move from USC to Tennessee?
Of course, if he wanted to "come home," that's a different story. But, it seems he didn't. At least not at the expense of his career.
If UT does well these next few years, I could see Mike Bajakian moving on to a HC gig somewhere. Maybe Tee would get a look for that job then. It might turn out even better. Give him a couple of more years to develop recruiting connections in SoCo.
Please good sir point out the flaw(s) in my logic or statements using facts. I shall wait.
Can't understand people blaming Tee, Jones, Dooley, or adminstration. Just wasn't the right time for Tee for whatever reason. Lots of good people out there who would KILL to have this job.
If T has turned Tn down then it will be a decision he will regret down the road. This may be his 1 and only shot at UT.
I can see it now Kiffin gets fired next year , T isn't retained . T ends up at a place he doesn't want to be at and his wife gets mad because she will not be able to reach her dream to become a line dancer on soul train. Then she will have no choice but to move.
But it is what it is. T probably burned some bridges at UT
Many prospective coaches think of UT as poison. imho. And it has everything to do with the way the Administration is running things. Clean house.
It doesn't matter if Kiffin gets fired he'll get another job at at the drop of a hat. Your reasoning doesn't hold water. Some of you fans are so angry you'll bash anybody when you can't have your way.I don't know how big of a step down this lateral move would be for Martin. Right now, Kiffin is on the hot seat out in Los Angeles whether anyone wants to admit it or not because two out of the three years he has coached at UT he posted mediocre records. Right now, I have to believe that he is making a big mistake by not coming back home to coach because he may not have a job at USC much longer. Pat Haden, the AD at Southern Cal, is looking to spread his influence within the athletic department, specifically with football. I wouldn't be surprised if Lane Kiffin gets axed if his team loses their bowl game.
Really? Let's review here. USC was the consensus No.1 team for the first few weeks, this season. Look where they ended up. Feeling me?USC is a better gig. They have the number one recruiting class and will compete in the next couple years, again. Staying at USC is the best career choice for him. I am sure he did UT the courtesy of hearing them out because it's UT. But in the end, if the wife did say something, I don't think it took much to sway Tee to stay in Cali.
