Per Twitter Tee Declines

Not saying that, but if he wanted to be here and she didn't, (I'm assuming all of this) then he needs to put his foot down.

Have you ever seen his wife though? My cousin used to coach with him at a high school down here in Georgia. She is absolutley gorgeous. And we all know what a beautiful woman can persuade a man to do.

I don't blame Tee in the slightest. From a strictly professional point of view, it would be viewed as a step down. Why would anyone - from a professional point of view - make a lateral move from USC to Tennessee?

Of course, if he wanted to "come home," that's a different story. But, it seems he didn't. At least not at the expense of his career.

If UT does well these next few years, I could see Mike Bajakian moving on to a HC gig somewhere. Maybe Tee would get a look for that job then. It might turn out even better. Give him a couple of more years to develop recruiting connections in SoCo.

I don't know how big of a step down this lateral move would be for Martin. Right now, Kiffin is on the hot seat out in Los Angeles whether anyone wants to admit it or not because two out of the three years he has coached at UT he posted mediocre records. Right now, I have to believe that he is making a big mistake by not coming back home to coach because he may not have a job at USC much longer. Pat Haden, the AD at Southern Cal, is looking to spread his influence within the athletic department, specifically with football. I wouldn't be surprised if Lane Kiffin gets axed if his team loses their bowl game.

You used logic intelligence and analyzed the situation with an open mind looking at the situation before placing blame. You did not bash a former player nor did you make unreasonable demands

That's just not allowed here :)

Please good sir point out the flaw(s) in my logic or statements using facts. I shall wait.

Haha, I have. She's pretty

Can't understand people blaming Tee, Jones, Dooley, or adminstration. Just wasn't the right time for Tee for whatever reason. Lots of good people out there who would KILL to have this job.

Many prospective coaches think of UT as poison. imho. And it has everything to do with the way the Administration is running things. Clean house.

If T has turned Tn down then it will be a decision he will regret down the road. This may be his 1 and only shot at UT.
I can see it now Kiffin gets fired next year , T isn't retained . T ends up at a place he doesn't want to be at and his wife gets mad because she will not be able to reach her dream to become a line dancer on soul train. Then she will have no choice but to move.
But it is what it is. T probably burned some bridges at UT

His wife's music career has come and went. Time for her to hang up the heels. She had a minor hit about a 12 years ago. It's over, hun. Thanks for guilting Tee(who's career is just starting to blossom) into staying in USC with a lame duck coach.

Kiffin ain't getting fired next year. He has another top 5 if not top class coming up. He also will have a new defensive coordinator.

Don't hate Tee guys. If you want to be upset, be upset with Dooley and Hart ignoring him last year when he reached out to them. I wish Tee the best and I don't blame him for his decision.

If Tee is on an airplane back to LA...
1) Very few planes have inflight wifi.
2) Why would he tweet it?

I agree the Admin is f... up. But for 375K / yr (what I've read was offered), I still think there has got to be plenty of good coaches out there ready to step in.

Hell, 375 k for the next 3 yrs is more than I will make the rest of my lifetime......

It doesn't matter if Kiffin gets fired he'll get another job at at the drop of a hat. Your reasoning doesn't hold water. Some of you fans are so angry you'll bash anybody when you can't have your way.

Last year he was quoted as saying he'd "walk to Knoxville" to take a job on the staff from UK. I guess USC is too far to walk.

Sucks.

USC is a better gig. They have the number one recruiting class and will compete in the next couple years, again. Staying at USC is the best career choice for him. I am sure he did UT the courtesy of hearing them out because it's UT. But in the end, if the wife did say something, I don't think it took much to sway Tee to stay in Cali.
Really? Let's review here. USC was the consensus No.1 team for the first few weeks, this season. Look where they ended up. Feeling me?

There was such an uproar at their UNDERWHELMING record, that Kiffin had to throw his own father under the bus...just to get another year. THAT IS JOB SECURITY?

Tee could have helped us pull a few players from our backyard (Ramsey and Hatcher), that are currently committed to them. Bringing us closer to a Top 10 class.

Instead, he effectively said, "no deal....I'm going to continue to funk my alma mater over by working to plunder talent from their own backyard."

Definitely heart broken but not butt hurt.

Tee gave his all for Tennessee, and I'll always love him for that.

Guess I just got too excited yesterday when he was in Kville. As stated, the man's family comes first and NO ONE can blame him for that.

It's still a bitter taste that he will still be working for pukeface.

I think its better for UT that Tee did turn it down. I think the only reason he was offered was from a PR standpoint. I think Butch knew Tee wouldnt take it. I think its better if Butch gets someone with his mindset(like the other coaches he brought in). I wish Tee the best and Im glad he didnt come.
