Per Twitter Tee Declines

I figured he would do it for many reasons, including being close to his son and be involved with his life.
Guess I was wrong. If USC and wife trump first son and home, not much to say.

Yeah, I thought he would take it too. But I would understand if it was due to his wife's reluctance.

There has got to be other Vols in the profession who can step in and move the program forward.

Most coaches don't work for one of the marquee programs in America and just moved 2,000 miles in the last 12 months.

spin it however you want. What ever makes you feel better.

Fact is he came to Knoxville to interview... clearly that shows he had interest... and if this holds up, he's saying no thanks.

Again, not a good start for Butch.

I love my wife to death, who is born and raised in So Cal. However, as the breadwinner of the house, I am doing what's best for our family and moving to TN. Better financially and quality of life.

If his wife is the one holding this up, he needs to grow a pair and tell her that they are moving. Besides, they won't be at USC and LA forever.

Purely speculation on my part, but if I had a son by another woman, not sure my wife would be up for moving across the country to be closer to him and his mom.
Just sayin. Purely speculative. But better thought out than dumbasses blaming Dooley and Jones.

hell yeah! Keep em barefoot and pregnant I say! Where's my sammich?

How you derived that from my post is hard to fathom. Me thinks you attempt to read too much between the lines. Thing is, more MUSIC is produced and recorded in the South than the west. Geeze you trippin.

As gently as possible, I agree. But it also depends on how strongly she feels about it. The whole thing is a bit odd.

BS, he was reached out to by his school and chose not to be a part of the the process to try to get back to the national stage. Its really smple, he chose Kiffin , job, and the bright lights of California over UT, He didnt want to do the 'hard work' and chose to keep the cozy job and that is fine. you can spin it all you want to.

I'm missing out on all the info coz I don't have Tee on speed dial, I guess.

So, by your logic, it would technically be better to stay at USC than to come to UT from a carreer standpoint. Assistant coaches at winning programs tend to be offered bigger jobs when the program they currently work for is winning. If he came here, he could be taking a gamble on his career. It seems to me that he made a conservative decision for his family. Just my 2 cents though.

It's a a business decision, yes. But after this, I hope Tennessee never offers Tee another coaching job. Doesn't deserve another chance to come back here. Have fun at USC, Tee. Don't come back.
Your an idiot! I am disappointed too but no sense in acting like a 15 year old. You would probably beg for him to come back if Lane loses job next year.

Good Lord! Don't be like that! Don't you think comments like yours just might be the reason WHY he and his family made the decision they did? Please just stop with this nonsense that just because someone had a successful career at UT that they are somehow REQUIRED to come back and coach in Tennessee.:stop:

He didn't want to do the hard work? He coached at Kentucky. You're mad because he didnt choose TN but then you insult his work ethic because your feelings are hurt. Sad.

Not saying that, but if he wanted to be here and she didn't, (I'm assuming all of this) then he needs to put his foot down.

No logic in this statement

Tee had an offer, Tee Refused

Jones did all he could do at this point

Didnt take Tee long to refuse which says a lot

If he wanted to come back, he would have said yes before he got on the plane in LA

USC is a better gig. They have the number one recruiting class and will compete in the next couple years, again. Staying at USC is the best career choice for him. I am sure he did UT the courtesy of hearing them out because it's UT. But in the end, if the wife did say something, I don't think it took much to sway Tee to stay in Cali.

A logical post

The thing that folks wishing him well, are missing, is that he is choosing to continue to COMPETE AGAINST US on the recruiting trail....not just in CA, but primarily IN OUR OWN BACKYARD.

I hope Karma takes a big bite out of his arse for this decision. Would have been better if he'd never been offered in the first place. This is a slap in the face, not matter how you spin it.

Tee did what he felt was best. His decision doesn't necessarily have to summarize how he feels about UT. 2 years at USC will be great for his resume, regardless of what happens to Kiffin after next season.

Look for him to be an OC somewhere after the 2013 season, anyway. He probably knew he wouldn't get promoted to that if he came here. Still a VFL and I don't blame him at all.

because you said

Wife should support the husband; first.

outdated thinking. Sometimes the husband has to think of the wife's happiness too

Too bad for UT....guess it's not Tee's time right now...he's not coming.
Just hope Tee doesn't regret this decision when his thug boss Lame K. loses his job (rumors are he's not going to last.)
If a new coach cleans Lame Kiffscums house... Tee will wish he'd taken our offer...cuz he's a rock star here...those LA fans don't appreciate him like we do and the new
guy might not keep him.

Good luck and Best Wishes to ya Tee!
You'll always be a VFL.

Can't understand people blaming Tee, Jones, Dooley, or adminstration. Just wasn't the right time for Tee for whatever reason. Lots of good people out there who would KILL to have this job.
