Police shooting black man in the back ... again (Kenosha, WI)

If you watch the video, at the start, you see three officers and it looks like they are talking to him on the other side of the vehicle. Then all three draw their weapons at the same time. He said or did something to cause that reaction, then walks purposefully to the driver's side and reaches in.

Will be interesting to see if they have body cam.

No body cams

I’ve had two Leo’s draw weapons on me( at the same offense) I was very cooperative and did everything I could to get the police not to shoot at me

Seems “reasonable and rational “ to borrow a term from our liberal friends .

let me clarify...I’ve said in my posts that IF he had a gun in his car, then that would explain the officers response.

However, if not (and actually to an extent, even if) then don’t you want to hold out LEO’s to a higher standard than a dude with a warrant for his arrest? Shouldn’t they be able to handle that situation better? He was walking away. If he was just getting in his car to leave and not retrieve a weapon, then just let him leave. How would anyone be worse off with that outcome at this point.

Again, please realize my opinion is based on the assumption there was NO GUN in the car.
How are the officers supposed to know if he is driving off vs getting a weapon? Also they would be liable if they “let him go” and he hurt someone else or himself

He had a warrant for his arrest..... a history of violence including assaulting police officer and sexual assault.... if you don’t want cops to have the ability to arrest someone who has an warrant.... why even have cops?

The Radical Left is full metal jacket stupid. Don't even try to reason with these people.

What if they let him get in the car and he runs one of the women over? Who you gonna point the finger at in that case?

Don't know if this has been posted but a friend just shared this with me, stated he was armed with a knife as shown below. Reports are he told the officers he was going for a gun. Obviously I can't confirm any of this and won't claim to have a source. Take it for what it's worth..... Or don't.

possession of a gun by a felon = automatic prison time --- and what kind of upstanding dad leaves a loaded gun on the front seat of a car when he has the kids ??

Thats why the outcome can not be thrown completely at the feet of any cop in that situation. The "higher standard" sounds good when there are not any unknowns. In which case a threat to you as the cop or anyone in the near future is clear.

Having said that, if they had cause to arrest him on the warrant they shouldn't have let him get to the car door where those unknowns exist. Especially if they had already tried to use a taser and failed. The idea of just letting him go doesn't make sense to me. At what point do you allow him to decide its fine with him to be taken in.

But back to the first, this doesnt look like a quick trigger, first response is to shoot type situation. In which case Blake had a choice in the outcome.

These people are the Democrat base. They encourage this kind of behavior and demonize people who oppose it

Could’ve been verifying the warrant when he started to walk away. My gut tells me they should’ve handcuffed him immediately while they were figuring out the situation but were trying not to “escalate” the situation in front of the crowd of people

So here's the question, if he says: "eff this. This is BS. I was just helping out. Why you taking me in. I'm outta here." And then they shoot him. What basis did they have to believe that lethal force was justified?
I'll bite, a known criminal with a warrant who is under arrest is about to get into a van with three kids and a woman to run from the police. Those civilians are now in danger whether it's being taken somewhere besides home, on a high speed chase, etc. The individual is also proven violent with an active warrant.

The only way it's not justified is if he exclaimed his intention to check on his kids in the van.
