Nothing in that scenario warrants the use of lethal force. It's possible to believe at the same time that (1) he acted stupidly, and (2) the cops actions were excessive and not warranted by his actions. In the same way, it's possible to believe a woman in a string bikini acted stupidly in walking into a drunken frat party and that she was also raped.

I really don’t understand how at this point the cops just don’t let him go. Unless it comes out that there was a weapon in the vehicle, everyone would’ve been better off if they just let him go.

I think you were on to something with the previous post regarding his warrant issued in July.

I dont think the cops showed up in the dark on that, nor did he (Blake) forget about it until they rolled up and reminded him. I also doubt the cops were not aware of his prior issues involving a gun and law enforcement either.

If his attorney is correct in the idea that they tried to taze him first before he ever tried to either leave or retrieve a weapon, then they at least tried one non lethal attempt to apprehend him.

You could argue they should have never let him get to the car door, but you could easily argue he shouldn't have attempted to either. Once he got there and opened the door an unknown enters the equation. Assuming they already had checked him for a weapon on him.

I can’t figure these stupid azz people out . skin color has nothing to do with stupid . Idiots die from doing stupid things everyday , it’s called natural selection . Walking all the way around your car with three guys having their weapons drawn on you ( doesn’t matter who the guys are ) screaming at you not to open that car door , NO MATTER WHAT... the next thing that happens is on you . We can argue the right and wrong of it after you are dead .

Pretty simple, get pulled over:

Turn car off
Turn radio off
Turn on recording device
If night, turn on interior dome lights
Put hands on steering wheel
Roll down windows
Wait and deal with situation as calmly as possible
Notify police you are streaming video
Use sir and ma'am as sign of respect even if you don't respect them.....it eases tension and allows the police to feel in control
If you have valid drivers license, insurance, no outstanding warrants or tickets and nothing in the car, you will be ok.

If you have any thing outstanding, be an adult and deal with your situation as it has just become a priority to be dealt with no matter how much you avoided or tried to avoid it. Now you have to deal with it, so, deal with it and be an adult and take your lumps.

And on the flipside, if you are a black man in America, why are you not on your Ps & Qs when you are around these trigger happy cops. Doesn't he know these cops are itching to use their weapons?

This dude was a bad guy. Felony sexual assault, domestic abuse charge, open warrant. Also let’s read about this incident.

Blake pointed the gun at the other man, and the magazine fell to the floor. The bartender told Blake to leave, and he did but then pointed the gun through the window at patrons inside the bar before walking south on Junction Avenue.

Regardless it’s probably smart to do whatever when you have guns in your face.

I'm big on individual rights but there's a time to discuss them and a time to shut up and fight another day. If there are guns in my face I want to see another day and will shut my mouth. especially when the world is claiming its so dangerous for a black man

I'm on your side with that. I'm just going to do it in court rather than grab my firearm from my truck and attempt to enact some street justice

So here is a question. If any of you were stopped by police and they drew their weapons on you, what would you do?

A). Peacefully comply with what they say
B). Engage in actions that would immediately make an officer suspicious or nervous
C). Just go full bull in a china shop

If it’s me? I choose A every single time. And guess what? The chances of someone getting shot for doing that is way less than dying from the rona.

Tazers are famously unreliable for a number of reasons. It's why departments are trained not to depend on it as the primary, only in combo with an officer with lethal force.

You weren’t there and we aren’t seeing the whole thing nor are we getting every detail. It’s easy to sit back and say what you are saying. You aren’t a LEO nor have you ever had to deal with what they have to on a daily basis.

Don't know if this has been posted but a friend just shared this with me, stated he was armed with a knife as shown below. Reports are he told the officers he was going for a gun. Obviously I can't confirm any of this and won't claim to have a source. Take it for what it's worth..... Or don't.
