Police shooting black man in the back ... again (Kenosha, WI)

I asked myself the same thing. We don’t know the whole context yet but this seems like one case where subduing the guy in place would have averted a lot of heartache.
Probably over “sensitive” to the climate instead of using proper officer safety techniques

Lots of billy badasses who like to talk about how they need guns to protect themselves from the government are in here saying you should just bend over and let the government do whatever they want. Shocker.
Nobody has said that.... most has said that at this current time you should work it out through legal means..

Like the ones saying we don't need guns because we have police but are also screaming defund the police

I really don’t understand how at this point the cops just don’t let him go. Unless it comes out that there was a weapon in the vehicle, everyone would’ve been better off if they just let him go.
Let him go? It will probably get to that point but how would they ever enforce warrants....

I say start throwing the power tripping cops who overstep their mandate in jail. False imprisonment, murder etc. Stop giving them passes.

This comment has nothing to do with this incident but cops in general who are trained to trample on the individual freedoms of the very people they are supposed to serve.
Except these aren’t power tripping cops. Having the public understand actual law and police procedures help a lot. Unfortunately you can lead a horse to water....

I know what you’re saying and don’t like where it’s going. But for warrants like the one it looks like he was being sought for, it seems like de-escalation would’ve been a more prudent course.

So here's the question, if he says: "eff this. This is BS. I was just helping out. Why you taking me in. I'm outta here." And then they shoot him. What basis did they have to believe that lethal force was justified?
When he reached into his car while being instructed not too..... he put every single person at risk..... all the guy had to do was obey commands..... judging by his rap sheet.... this is entirely based on the poor choices that he has made in his life.

Don't know if this has been posted but a friend just shared this with me, stated he was armed with a knife as shown below. Reports are he told the officers he was going for a gun. Obviously I can't confirm any of this and won't claim to have a source. Take it for what it's worth..... Or don't.

There you go. Thug pulls a knife, wouldn’t listen to demands...resisting arrest and approaches his car for whatever.
Say what you want, but if I’m a cop and this thug pulls this kinda sh!t.....I’m not waiting 1.2 seconds for him to turn around and shoot me.

This is what I don’t understand , I’ve done some screechy sh!t I’m my life but I’ve never put a Leo in a position to draw his weapon on me . The crazy part is ( bare with me it’s going to sound insane ) If I were ever in that position I’d be trying to deescalate the situation to keep my azz from getting shot , not allowing them to make a bad choice .🤷‍♂️

I can’t imagine how any cop in America right Now would let themselves get into this situation unless it was life threatening. Or at least that’s my hope. If he was doing nothing more than saying “screw you, I’m leaving” and there was no weapon in the car, then I can’t help but want to hold the cops responsible.

Looks like he had a knife and possibly a gun car in the car. My guess is he was also either high or intoxicated. And you want to just let him drive off with 3 kids in the car? Really?

He had a warrant for his arrest..... a history of violence including assaulting police officer and sexual assault.... if you don’t want cops to have the ability to arrest someone who has an warrant.... why even have cops?

I’ve had two Leo’s draw weapons on me( at the same offense) I was very cooperative and did everything I could to get the police not to shoot at me

It’s a hard decision.... one I wouldn’t want to make but deescalation does not include just letting him drive off

let me clarify...I’ve said in my posts that IF he had a gun in his car, then that would explain the officers response.

However, if not (and actually to an extent, even if) then don’t you want to hold out LEO’s to a higher standard than a dude with a warrant for his arrest? Shouldn’t they be able to handle that situation better? He was walking away. If he was just getting in his car to leave and not retrieve a weapon, then just let him leave. How would anyone be worse off with that outcome at this point.

Again, please realize my opinion is based on the assumption there was NO GUN in the car.
