1. So, AGAIN! Consistent logic should be that, if NICO was enough to CAUSE concerns, his staying should alleviate them. In that, he must have heard something that caused him to stay. THAT is the point, and you consistently ignore it. Hell, I would argue that the reports of his concerns, if true... His staying should ALLAY those initial concerns.

But you don't seem to want to deal with that point. So, to answer your question: Yes. Yes, it is illogical for the casual fan to use it as a cause for concern after Nico's concerns were allayed enough to stay.
  1. Buddy, I can’t tell if you are really missing my point about Nico’s meeting or if you are just pretending you don’t get it for the sake of argument. Only other thing I’m gonna say about it is I would feel a lot better if it hadn’t happened, and apparently so would Mike Matthews.
2. It's no surprise that you didn't hear anything to alleviate your concerns, you appear to hear what you want, and ignore anything that may alleviate them.
2. Talking about ignoring things, did you or did you not hear Ramon Foster say that NFL guys have approached him with questions about WR development at UT?
3. The point of bringing up the video was that your prophet doesn't seem to know as much as you claimed, as he was ASKING AP, who is consistently taking a "No need to panic, the fanbase just needs to settle down and let this play out" stance.

As a matter of fact, the VQ crew, in their video today, specifically stated that the fanbases haven't yet gotten used to this new world of NIL/Portal and are pretty severely overreacting. They state "we" (read, "you") need to settle down, relax a little, and just get used to the bumpy ride of the new era.
3. Of course they’re going to say don’t panic. What else are they going to say? But I don’t think their answers to any pointed questions give anyone else the warm and fuzzies about the situation, excepted maybe you. And speaking of overreacting: All I did was pose a rhetorical question expressing concerns that I’d about guarantee most Vol fans share about the WR situation, and you jumped straight to crazy, short-sighted, and illogical. I definitely wouldn’t have wasted as much time on this as I have if you hadn’t gone there. And lol at calling Ramon Foster my prophet. You gonna act like he’s not plugged in to the Tennessee football program? And you haven’t even acknowledged where I mentioned Swain. He’s said plenty on his podcasts About the WR situation to cause concern.
Again. Switch to decaf and develop some patience before asking whether the staff can do their jobs with success. (And that's the issue folks have taken with you.)

I definitely wouldn’t have wasted as much time on this as I have if you hadn’t gone there. (I don’t think anyone else has taken much of an issue with me other than you and maybe one other guy that commented at first. I guess you might have picked up a like or two here and there along the way, but so have I).

Here's a reminder:

But again, if you want to play the fallacious "appeal to authority" card, do it consistently.
I don’t need a reminder of what I said. I remember what all you said just fine too. And there you are throwing around the “appeal to authority” thing again. How does that prove my concerns crazy, short-sided, or illogical.

4.

Great. So the next question would be, if you believe that, why ask the original question that sparked this whole debate?
4. Everything must be black and white with you, isn’t it? Yes, I can say Huepel has done an amazing job and I believe he can fix the receiver situation, while at the same time expressing concerns about that situation and how it got to this point.

If you actually believe that, why come here spreading malaise to a fanbase that is already in large part standing on the ledge, in a forum that already reeks of stupidity and panic?
Good to see that you acknowledge I am not alone in my concerns. In fact, I’d say the majority of Vol fans are at least somewhat concerned about it. Maybe we’re all crazy, short-sighted, and illogical. Looks like you are taking it up another notch with “stupidity”.
Here's that reminder again, apparently having come from someone who actually believes that it likely won't be a concern and the staff can likely navigate this...

So, you basically just walk into a theater, scream "FIRE!?!", and your defense when called on it is "What? I don't really believe there's a fire."
Don’t you think that’s a little bit dramatic regarding a message board post from some rando? Which I don’t know why I’d even ask that to someone who replied to my rhetorical question immediately with crazy, short-sighted, and illogical. And now, maybe stupid.
Like that makes it better somehow?

This will be my last written response to you on this, as I'll allow you the last word.
That’s very generous of you as I am sure it’s killing you.

We looked at Velus, and got him involved.

Hyatt, Tillman also.

I really dont think Pope is as bad a coach as we say. I think its 100% lack of dynamic playcalling, talent, and roster management.

Yep, it’s never just one thing. The only WR that has been recruited and contributed was Squirrel and he’s gone. Everyone else is either a Pruitt or portal guy. That’s bad.

On the other hand, the WRs we’ve had are always banged up (Bru, Squirrel, Thornton) and Brazzell has disappointed. Yesterday I heard Ainge describe his issue as effort. Something about Brazzell was in a film review and he was caught drawing smiley faces. Just not putting forth the effort needed to succeed at this level.

Thought I’d post this on the portal thread because it may get lost in the fray on the general chat, but Kodi Burns is now the OC at USF. We all know the WR production the two years he was here.

What I’ve heard from an agent friend:
- MM got bumped from $500k to $800k
- The receivers did not like Pope, leading to some of the transfer attrition
- Pope is out
- MM will return

That’s all I’ve heard
I’m not saying your agent friend is wrong but I saw this same thing posted by some rando on X last night.

He was here for one year (2021).. Hyatt won the Biletnikoff under Pope in 22…
