I think, like it or not, that race is a factor. Look at every one of the top recruiting staffs in the country. At least 2 minority coaches are on all of them. Garner would have been one, Lake/Perry would have been one. There are plenty of candidates. If we could land Whitt Jr., then he'd be one. That definitely plays into Drayton's hands.
One minority coach. I hate the race argument as much as anyone, but, its a simple fact, it is a huge recruiting disadvantage to have a staff with no minority coaches. Saban, Urban, Richt, etc would beat that into every recruits head when recruiting against us.
