I think there may be some news coming out of the coaches convention in Nashville, which is from January 11-13.

I think it is due early this coming week.

I also just heard that Chaney has had talks with Gran this week. Don't know if that has been posted yet or not.

My cousin in Nashville is a big donor. I'm not sure that I would consider him an insider, but he hosts fundraisers for VASF. He doesn't have any names, but he keeps saying that. There is also a respected poster on vq saying the same thing. The fact that the same thing is coming from 2 different people leads me to believe that it has merit.

BTW, per VQ all of the football GAs were let go and are looking for jobs at the football convention in Nashville.

thats not a good reason if you ask me. there are still plenty of reminders of the old staff......equipment people; trainers; football operations people.
And Drayton looks to be secure. GAs are two year gigs, and those with a year still left who were doing a good job should have been retained. Simon fits that bill.

I don't think Drayton is secure. Most of the people you listed won't be providing discipline and instruction.

plus Drayton wasn't really part of the good ole boy network...he was only here for what 8 months? I understand not keeping ANYONE that might have loyalties to CPF who might not buy in to the Kiffin way of life...and would in return try to divide and conquer.
