Premiere League & World Soccer Thread

Amazing weekend for Everton. Beat Utd and Burnley lost to Norwich, which reestablishes our four point cushion above the relegation zone. Also, Liverpool failed to capitalize on their opportunity to seize control of the title race.

I know I harp about VAR on here a lot, but a functioning system wouldn’t have one of these challenges being reviewed and upgraded to a straight red while the other one wasn’t even checked.

****. Sucks to lose it that way after fighting back so hard. Never been prouder of an overall pressure cooker type performance but once again the defense just forgets about little ole Benzema sitting in the box waiting for a cross and that’s the dagger. If we play the way we played tonight on both legs, we move through with possible ease…but *****ing the bed at home was too much to overcome.

I missed extra time, but what I saw up until Real’s first goal was Chelsea dominance.

It really was. Once Real got that first goal it was much more even, but even then Chelsea was the better side in ET, but one little lapse in defense and Benzema took advantage… again.

Even the first leg Chelsea was the better side in the 2nd half, but it was that 1st half in the 1st leg and the absolutely terrible error from Mendy at the start of the second half of the 1st leg that did them in. Mendy doesn’t make one of the worst mistakes he’s ever made, and Chelsea would have won on aggregate 4-3 at FT today.

Sucks, but you move on. Goal is the FA Cup now but I don’t even feel so confident in that.

Just please beat Arsenal in the upcoming match.

Going to be a tight final 7-8 games for the 3 and 4 spot. There are some really crucial games left for all.

Chelsea Vs Arsenal
Arsenal Vs Spurs
Spurs Vs Liverpool
Arsenal Vs West Ham

Going to be a fun ending to the season.

It really is. A race for the title, 4th place and a relegation battle.

Just shows you how a world class player or two (Benzema and Modric) can win a leg for your team. Chelsea largely outplayed them, even in the first leg, but individual brilliance saw Real get almost 3 goals over their expected goals number. They were more clinical, and that was the difference.

Both Atletico and City acting like a bunch of punks.

Edit: City he bigger punks of the two. I know time wasting is what it is in soccer but City is literally falling to the ground every 2 seconds and milking.

Liverpool's next 20 days 👀👀👀

4/5- @ Benfica (Champions League QFs)
4/10- @ Man City (EPL)
4/13- Benfica (CL)
4/16- vs. Man City (FA Cup Semi)
4/19- Man U (EPL)
4/24- Everton (EPL)

Don't think I've ever seen a run like this

A triple/quadruple will be a real possibility or dead in its tracks by the 16th

And now add:

4/27- vs Villarreal
4/30- @ Newcastle
5/4- @ Villarreal
5/7- vs Tottenham

Woof

Brighton out here trying to take the piss out of the top 4 race. Beats Arsenal last week and now beats Spurs.
