You can't red shirt someone that's already played a down in a game. Dobb's red shirt got burned when Worley and Peterman broke their thumbs. Dobbs will be in school for 5 years though so he could play his 5th year if the coach allowed it. That doesn't matter much though as we're nowhere near the point of eliminating any of the 4 QB's. The decision will unlikely be made even after the O&W game.

Don't recall anyone saying Ferg was a definite starter at this time. What we have said is that Worley and he have begun to separate from the other two. In a couple of weeks at least I don't remember anyone but those two getting reps with the ones. I get the feeling some of you are so dead against some of the qbacks. you may very well be happy if we lose some games if it makes you feel better about the one you have chosen. Before the practices began I really did not have a preference but I can read everything that has been written and I can not see how anyone reading those same notes can come up with anything but Worley-1, Ferg-2 at this time.Oh mummy, oh mummy, oh, oh mummy. I mean oh my! It happened again:
In a few live 11-on-11 plays, the offense had a couple nice plays. Young took a handoff around the left end for approximately 15 yards and quarterback Riley Ferguson, working with the second team, made a nice throw to Helm for a first down.

Told you Ferg folks that practices are switched around. You can't just assume because someone is with the first team on a given day is heir apparent to the throne of Sygna 5 in galactic cluster 12 and the 8th house of Th' ijp.

Sometimes you have to look at actions as the relate to what is said.
Worley has always gotten reps with the 1's since last spring. The others have come and gone. They've all gotten their shot at knocking him off. The sign that one of them has done it will be if and when he stops going out with the 1's first most of the time and stops getting 1st team reps equal to or greater than anyone else.
I still do not understand how popular it is to "hate" Worley. He makes the throws. He manages the O. He leads his teammates. He would not be the first QB to win games with that combo.
I am as excited about the potential of Ferguson and Dobbs as anyone here. But I don't dismiss the ability of Worley. It is very difficult for me to understand why so many here find it so difficult to be a "fan" of any and all of the four.![]()
Doesn't throw picks and knows the O? Maybe. Makes the throws? Not really. I have never seen a qb throw over a wrs head or five yards in the dirt behind them like Worley. If he wins I hope he can lead the team and manage the o. But he probably has the worst arm and is not that accurate. 51.9% vs BCS conference teams last year. 4tds 4 ints
You must not have been around long then. Ainge was worse by far until Cut came back. Crompton was worse. Schaeffer was worse.
ALL were working with WR's that knew what they were doing. Jones has plainly said that sometimes "making a play" for a QB means throwing it away rather than trying to force it or taking a sack.
He does not have the worst arm. Probably second to Ferguson if reports about Ferguson are accurate.
You have just affirmed my point. Your hate is based on conjured "evidence" and even that is not taken in context with the condition of the WR corps last fall.
BTW, you didn't even answer the main point which is that Jones seems to still think Worley is the best option... Like me, he doesn't seem to buy your "evidence" that Worley isn't any good.
FWIW, I believe it was Jones who recently told the media that Worley was "making the throws" they needed to be made.

He is not accurate. My "evidence" is the stat line. Accuracy is usually judged by completion percentage and things like that. Dobbs as a true freshman vs better teams than Worley faced 59.5%. Worley vs BCS conference teams as a Junior 51.9%. He is not that accurate. He throws balls behind and over wrs heads more than any qb we have ever had. I don't hate him and think he may start. He has the most time in college and knows how to avoid turnovers better than the younger players. But he is not accurate.
with injured guys, dobbs did this. and against better teams. this further supports my theory that worley and fergy are battling for the #2 spot and dobbs i think will be our starter. they already know what they have in dobbs. worley coming off the injury and doesn't like to run is servicable, but imho not a starter in this system. fergy is the wildcard. peterman is the odd man out.

post his stats in all his games last year. and in the SC game, north saved him on the pass he threw up for grabs
Worst anti-Worley argument there is.
North bailed him out on his pass....... that was intended for North.
Pig also bailed him out with that ball he caught that Worley threw to him in the endzone.
I remember that whole game Rajion bailed him out by picking up yardage when Worley chose to hand the ball off.
The O-line totally bailed Worley out on the busted play when Worley kept it and ran for 10 yards to pick up the first down.
