Quality Win Update for SEC teams

You know, the way the SEC west is shaping up right now, 3 teams might not have been that bad a call.

The Buldogs better beat Tennessee or Kentucky if they want to be comfortable.

I still think that 10 wins in the SEC is going to be a barometer for this years selection committee. I think 3 teams IS possible, but I think 4 is the minimum in reality.

However, I think all of these teams (UF, State, Ole Miss, SC) have to reach that 9 or 10 win mark in the conference. Relying on out of conference wins won't really help you when 4 teams from the same division have the same records, fighting for the same spots.

Arkansas is still playing well enough (here and there) to take some wins away from these guys as well.

I think they'll end up with six. However, the two Mississippi schools are making things tough on themselves.

The awfulness of the PAC 10 makes the bubble more forgiving than usual this year.

Exactly. I made note of that earlier in this thread, I think. It will also give the committee some great ammunition to give the Big East 9 or 10 teams in the tourney.

Edit: Not that I am totally against that happening. There are great teams in the middle of the Big East that deserve the tourney just as much as the 5th and 6th picks from the SEC

Ole Miss is playing like a team who wants to play in the NIT.

With the Illinois win tonight, there's somebody that better pray Minnesota and Northwestern both tank down the stretch.

It eludes me why people seem to think wisconsin is significantly better than tennessee or vanderbilt. Neither team has a loss close to as bad as wisconsin green bay...

After the Wisc/MSU game and UT's performance tonight, if this still ELUDES you, your brain dead.

As you can see I already hammered this home once, but since Vandy got housed tonight, I thought I would drive it on home with a sledgehammer. Because frankly, I never get tired of it.

So, with the Illinois win, what do they have to do to get in, win all of their home games? Or do they need to finish off 4-3 at least?

So is there a decent possibility of not 6 but 7 teams from the Big 10, if Northwestern and Minnesota can each pull off an upset?

Jesus, looking at Northwestern's remaining schedule, if they don't get in something went very wrong.

Northwestern just needs to win the games they should. If they get from now til the end of the regular season with only one loss, they are in the field. The game at Iowa this week is big. Win that one and they should be in good shape. Losing to a bad opponent wouldn't help the cause.

If Northwestern really takes care of business, yes. Otherwise, the game those two have later this month might become a play in game.
