Quit with the moral victory bs

Its sad that the majority of our fan base can be excited and hopeful from a loss. We competed and almost won the game. Exactly as we should have, something that we should EXPECT every game.

The fact you posted this shows your an unrealistic waste of good air. We are proud of the effort this team gave today and nothing you say can diminish the game they played. You have to learn to win and they are going through that process right now. Neyland was rocking today because this team took a positive step toward that final goal. The Volunteers gave us an excitement today that we have not felt for far too long. I wasn't a win but it was sure as heck fun to watch. GO VOLS!!!!!

I thought we would be crucified today. instead, it was close. Butch almost beat Prict with just half a deck of cards and 10 jokers. Hats off to him.

Whats sad about being excited and hopeful? Whats sad is that your not. This wasnt a moral victory but it was a positive step in the right direction. That gives me a reason to be excited and hopeful. Why don't you jump on the bandwagon of what ever team you like and leave this thread to the real Vol fans. Better yet, go find a bridge and see what it looks like from the bottom. GO VOLS!!!!

I agree, people are seriously elated right now. I don't get it, I'm crushed. I think they are assuming that tonight's performance will be the standard from here on out or something.

No, we don't like losing. What we DO like is the way this team played today. We like the effort and the promise it shows. Don't get it twisted. Go VOLS!!!!!

Yeah, all that's great, but that should be a given...that's supposed to be the easy part

Who knows. I have an idea; lets get excited about it and hope that it becomes a habit for this team to fight to the end and eventually start winning. Do you think you can manage that? If this game crushed you then you must have needed therapy after the Oregon game. GO VOLS!!!!!

I thought we were past this moral victory stuff. I can't figure out if it's from hopeless optimism or from such low expectations of our team, but if you were a stranger on here, you'd probably think we pitched a shut-out tonight.

This team found way to grasp loss from jaws of victory

It was not victory

5 years later dam

So would you have rather we lost 0-50 and played like crap? No body is calling it a moral victory, but considering where our team is compared to GA, then you're dang right I'm proud of these guys. They played their hearts out tonight, and just came up short against the 6th ranked team in ot.

It's true, sadly. Our play was encouraging--but today's loss was eerily like several killer losses under a previous coach who will not be named. However, I do think we are better coached now then under the coach who will not be named. Oh, OK--it was Coach Voldemort.

That team was as well-prepared and played as hard and smart as any Tennessee team has in a long time. I hate that they lost the game.

Yes, we play to win and not for moral victories, but you have to start somewhere. That team was prepared to win and played to win, and got beat trying with all they had to win that game. Georgia won that game, Tennessee didn't hand it to them.

If that's how Butch Jones can get his teams to play, then it's just a matter of time. Recruit, recruit, recruit!

I mean, I'm literally sick over this game and there's folks on here throwing a freakin party.

I am not celebrating a loss. I am celebrating improvement and playing hard. This was one of the top 3 talented teams UT plays this year. They repeat this effort for the remainder of the season... this is a 7 or 8 win team.

Everything you say is true, but shouldn't we expect that every game? The playing their hearts out part.

Anytime your post to like ratio is under 50%, it means your douche bag ratio is up for negative posts. Kudos on keeping that streak up!
