Quit with the moral victory bs

It's true, sadly. Our play was encouraging--but today's loss was eerily like several killer losses under a previous coach who will not be named. However, I do think we are better coached now then under the coach who will not be named. Oh, OK--it was Coach Voldemort.

Meh, we hardly ever made a rally from behind (a 2 possession deficit at that) to actually take the lead from behind under Dooley. The fault also wasn't a coaching blunder this time around like it almost always was under dooley. The Real issue is we seem to be Cursed in Overtime.

I sincerely don't get it either. I've been mocked several times tonight for merely mentioning that we shouldn't forget that Dooley had several games like this every year and that we should wait til he wins a conference game to put ***** in the HoF.

look, i was at the game...i was also at the Florida game last year....this team, these fans, and place is special. I saw nothing but smiles after the game....nothing was more special than walking down the concourses chanting, "its great to be a Tennessee VOL" .....this was nothing like the Florida game last year, this was a wonderful place to be.

GOOD THINGS ARE COMING.....

And another thing, next person who wants to hate Worley, or even put the blame on Pig for this loss....you can take your pansy ass on over to Vandyland and enjoy the crow......i really think we have alot to be thankful for....

41 potential recruits visited Neyland tonight, 8 of which are highly rated recruits...the stadium was beyond electric....TAMU may have the 12th man, but we had the 13th and the 14th... Thank you to all the fans who were there and made this fun......either way...we won big in the recruit world...i'll take it!

K...wrong. Í'm freakin sick of this fanbase celebrating our losses like it's 1999. If you're not crushed right now there is something wrong with you.

If your crushed there's something wrong with YOU. No one has said they liked losing today or any other games in the past. Stop watching the games if your devastated when we lose. You see, your kind of thinking is what keeps a team down and is the foundation born in every loser; that quit and give up mentality. This team is learning and building right now; lets let them grow and support them while they do. The wins will come. GO VOLS!!!!

Because the way the team played showed a spark that has been lacking at UT. They improved every aspect of their game over the past year and it was on display tonight against the No. 6 team in the nation. Special teams: way better, offensive play calling: no head scratchers and a much more varied playbook. Defense: wayyyy better. And now fan support: you betcha. We have our guy. This was only a glimpse of what's to come

Don't worry, it will all change on here when Saban hangs 50 on us. You won't be hearing the Progress Birds after that one, I can promise you.

We aren't celebrating but taking the positive out of a lost. Some ppl will dwell on this as a down moment.

But this is a coaching moment. You get up and fight another day. You can't dwell on it.

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT AS ORANGE ON ROCKY TOP!

Celebrating progress and a bright outlook against the 6th ranked team....or whining because you're sad we lost....hmmmmm sorry you don't seem to understand what progress looks like. Sucks to suck I guess.

Are you autistic or retarded? We are rebuilding a losing team. We just almost beat a great ranked team. In that, its a big victory for us who have supported the vols the last 6 years.

Please enlighten me on the correlation of Autism & this thread? My 11 yr old son can't wait to read your response......

I'm sick and feel like crap just as you are. However it eases the pain a bit to see how the team fought back from adversity and played a hell of a game. These guys are just not very good football wise but heir heart is unmatched. That my friend is what we are celebrating. The fact that SEC football is back at Neyland and the future is looking bright.

Maybe we're cheering because our team stepped up tonight and played their a** off against the #6 team in the nation?

I think it's more celebrating the fact that the team had an epiphany today after halftime. They started clicking like crazy on offense and took a top 10 team to the wire. Something we haven't seen them do in quite some time.

I thought we were past this moral victory stuff. I can't figure out if it's from hopeless optimism or from such low expectations of our team, but if you were a stranger on here, you'd probably think we pitched a shut-out tonight.

I don't think we should celebrate the loss by any means but there is nothing wrong with being proud of our guys effort today. We played our hearts out. Disappointing it didn't go our way in the end.

I mean these players played their heart out and fought back from being down 17-3...when every other year this team would have given up. So yeah we are pretty excited to go to OT with the number 6 team in the country with a 1st year coach. We were literally about an inch or so away from an upset...pretty big progress from a blowout in Eugene. So STFU OP.

Your right we should be Pissed that our guys went out there a played there azzes off for four quarters. Against a team that is hands down more talented. Our team went out and gave it there best nobody likes to lose. But today our team made me proud because they kept fighting.

And your expectations were? blow out, never in the game, any combination of lose? Btw, there is no such thing as a moral victory. The vols played better tonite than they have in 5 yrs.

But, in your opinion, they should be blowing the doors off everyone we play. Wining football games takes more than snarky comments by moronic fans

Maybe because we are an un-ranked team under a new head coach, badly out-manned, and still went toe to toe with the #6 team in the country. If you can't see the progress then I feel sorry for you.

Besides, it is a heck of a lot better than listening to a bunch of negative Nancys cry for the next 13 days.
