Quit with the moral victory bs

look, i was at the game...i was also at the Florida game last year....this team, these fans, and place is special. I saw nothing but smiles after the game....nothing was more special than walking down the concourses chanting, "its great to be a Tennessee VOL" .....this was nothing like the Florida game last year, this was a wonderful place to be.

GOOD THINGS ARE COMING.....

And another thing, next person who wants to hate Worley, or even put the blame on Pig for this loss....you can take your pansy ass on over to Vandyland and enjoy the crow......i really think we have alot to be thankful for....

41 potential recruits visited Neyland tonight, 8 of which are highly rated recruits...the stadium was beyond electric....TAMU may have the 12th man, but we had the 13th and the 14th... Thank you to all the fans who were there and made this fun......either way...we won big in the recruit world...i'll take it!

Bump and a like. We may not have won but these boys played like champions. Good times ahead. Go Vols.

Why are we celebrating? Because of this pic below. It has been a very long time since this was the case by a team especially against a top 10 opponent. With the talent level being the way it is and what this group of kids have been through, this was a team effort that has not been seen in a while. Sure I would have liked the win. But not seeing this sort of effort in some time is a sign that we have a staff moving in the positive direction even with the talent level we currently have. Or maybe we should all go hang ourselves in misery...which is so last season...

Nice! GO VOLS!!!

Because this is a rebuilding team with a brand new coach man and we almost beat the number 6 team in the nation. We should have lost that game by a lot. You have no clue at all!
The key thing you said was "we almost". We lost, we didn't almost win. No such thing. Clueless is feeling good about an almost win.

I'm proud of the steps taken by the team, but a loss is a loss. Should've had that one.

This team found way to grasp loss from jaws of victory

It was not victory

5 years later dam

Your right, it's not a victory. But it shows vast improvement over the crap we've had over the last 5 years. If you can't see that, and just want wins, maybe you should change your name to ilovebama instead. Dam

I never have been a big fan of the moral victory talk. Spin it how you want we still lost BUT I am damn proud of how the boys fought tonight. I am very happy to see our coaching staff play to win instead of try not to loose. THAT was the one thing that drove me crazy about Fulmer it seemed to me in every tight game Fulmer would always play the safe game plan trying to backdoor into a victory. I know we have a lot of rebuilding to do but we took a huge step today in the right direction. Neyland was great and how could the recruits not love what they saw. Go Big Orange Beat USCjr

It doesn't have to be a moral victory to be a step in the right direction. It was awesome being among thousands clad in orange exiting the stadium ramps while chanting "It's great to be a Tennessee Vol." I really believe we have finally begun our ascent.

WE LOST! Please tell me how that is a good thing. Doesn't matter if it was by 3 or 43 we still lost.

Seriously? This isn't the late 90's anymore...ANY step in the right direction for this program is something to be optimistic about....and this team has shown improvement (save for the USA game) every week.

Clueless is not realizing what this game did for our recruits and our fan base.

Clueless is not feeling good about how much this team grew up today.

Clueless is not realizing that if you made that comment in the locker room that the players would stomp you into a mudhole.

I feel like most of the people complaining about us enjoying a hard fought game would be the same people that, had we lost the way we were projected to, would be saying, "I just wish we could have kept it close and shown improvement."

When you build, we have to start somewhere. This is a player buy in game. Now the players know Coach Jones knows his stuff, so they can believe in him... Get it? I thought maybe the fans could buy in as well. I was wrong.

No, you were right. The only idiots not buying in right now are the OP and the people who gave him "likes".

That is a ridiculous statement. Looking good, playing hard, fighting back, and taking the #6 team in the country to OT is vastly different than laying an egg and getting curb-stomped.

I can guarantee you that there is not a single player in that locker room that is happy with an "almost win" and if there are, we are in serious trouble. It better be hurting them.
