Race and fear: ugly comments

I think that we learned yesterday that even economist can make big mistakes. If we are investing 700 billion plus dollars into the market then Buffet is the man we want watching the hen house which I understood was a possibility of choice by both candidates.

buffett isn't even a young 74. the man is QUICKLY approaching senility. just listen to him.

hey its a wash McCain and Obama will look to him for answers. Its an improvement for McCain since Graham was his first adviser another old washed up man.

Wow, you mean socsec.org put out something out telling us why privatizing it would be bad? Imagine that.

I just thought it would be easier reading for you to put it in bullet type format versus giving you a large document of 259 pages to browse through.

The Point I was making is that SS is a government problem and no matter what form it takes it will always be one. I did not say that privatization is bad but I am saying that the government will never be able to take there hands off of it and it will adopt some other form.

Don't care how you present it, more about who presents it in this case.

I feel badly for John McCain. He's a deserving fellow, bright and devoted to public service. I have no doubt but that he would be a fine president. And I am sure he thinks he is the man for the job.

He gets his shot to run for the WH as the economy buckles and he naturally gets tied to Bush -- even if that's not fair he just does. Then his opposition is this charasmatic guy and McCain gets told that to win he will have to run the very type of campaign he doesn't want to run. He wants to run on issues because that's what he cares about. He has looked at times uncomfortable to me with the approach they've been taking and once or twice basically gone off script and said "enough of this." I just think in his heart of hearts he wishes he could campaign in a different way.

At 76 he can't realistically run again. I hope that if Obama wins he seriously considers some type of significant position for McCain in his administration. I don't think it would be regarded as demeaning in any way and at this point McCain has got to be bored with being in the Senate.

anyone with half a brain would have to realize the housing bubble bursting has nothing to do with george bush.

Agree

Agree

My point is just that you can change all this rhetoric of statements to fit any scenario you wish.

garbage in = garbage out. Its your right of speech and choice of which your earned and has been protected by the liberals you so hate.

in case it hasn't been stated, my post was highly sarcastic.

do you read many of my posts?

This is your way of deflecting the issue. BHO does not say it and i never said that he did.
The banks are telling businesses that they will be even tighter on credit going into an Obama administration. The banks are telling companies to expect a 20% decrease in profits for the next two years because of an Obama administration.
Those are the facts of an Obama presidency.
"cripple" does not mean kill

my "way" is hyperbole when I feel the post deserves it.

to cut the crap, I'd love to see evidence that banks are telling companies this will happen because of an Obama administration's policies, no mind that the election hasn't happened, Obama hasn't named his cabinet nor taken office, nor do we know what the economic environment will be like come mid Jan. Maybe their fears have more to do with what has happened BEFORE Obama MIGHT become president.

Are you saying all will be well with banks and biz if McCain wins?

Please, provide that for me.

also, btw, "cripple" implies serious, and perhaps permanent, damage.

So what is your point I seemed to miss thread.

You certainly have missed it, then quoted me and missed it some more. It is not an issue the governement belongs in, that is the point. The fact that they are has nothing to do with my point.
