I will say the guy who posted the video should have made it more clear what he was trying to prove. He comes across as a complete ass with an agenda, and at the end of the day is bad representation of the right.
Their agenda is far right. Now, Breitbart is claiming at this point that they weren't given the whole video and they (and their defenders at Fox and Beck, et al) are trying to blame that on the NAACP. In fact, this morning Beck was going so far as to imply that the NACCP did that on purpose, i.e. allowed Breitbart reporter to misconstrue it on purpose so it would blow up nn their face. Problem with that theory being that NAACP originally also didn't have the video.
Bottom line: One of two things is true. Either Breitbart knew that what they were doing in hatcheting this thing up, or, they were all too willing to jump to the conclusion that she was speaking of her use of race in a recent incident (as opposed to her realization on it from 24 years ago) and went with that. Either way, yes, they look pretty bad.
The NAACP and the Obama administration also look terrible here because they were so concerned with public perception of their own relationshipo to the lady that they so quickly tossed her aside without looking at the facts. Concern for their own political well-being trumped their interest in first finding out what was actually said (completely). They, too, look bad.
Hannity looks awful because, like Breitbart, he jumped to the conclusion that the lady was saying that she had done this recently and he ignored those parts of the tape that surely raised some questions about context. He was so anxious to find another reverse racist in the administration for him to bash that he, too, disregarded the truth.
Beck? Well, this morning he proudly says "I'm the only one who didn't run it!" He goes on to talk about how, when first heard about the tape, he just "sensed" that something was wrong. He won't criticize Breitbart (and in fact has come up with this cockamamie theory that the NACCP stregorized the whole thing). But boy is he proud that the timing of the tape release and furor over it was such that he didn't get caught up in it on the morning show or in the evening on tv. He doesn't look bad. Just kind of insane.
