Yep. Takes a fool to believe that all it takes to recruit is to flash a few Super Bowl rings. Way more to it than that.

Saban did it for years, but with the portal and NIL, it's a whole new ballgame. That's why Saban got out, he was unable to just flash his rings and pass out the Chargers anymore.

No matter what, this was a successful season. No one can say that, before the season, they would not have been happy with 10-2, wins over Alabama, Florida, and Oklahoma, and a CFP appearance.

And this is Year 4. It’s only going to get better.

Oh, they can and they will but they will look as stupid as they normally do.

For the final game of the season, the Vols traveled to Hawaii for 8 days, and to play the Rainbows. 40,000 witnessed the greatest rushing performance (at that time) in Vols history. Stanley Morgan set a record with 201 rushing yards on 11 carries with touchdowns of 6 and 66 yrds. Just to add insult to injury, Morgan also scored on a 63 yrd punt return in the 28-6 victory.

Still one of my all time favorite players.

And this is Year 4. It’s only going to get better.

A lot better is hard to say. We still finish 7th-8th in the SEC in recruiting every year. Its an uphill climb doing that, but not impossible.

I was in the Navy from 90-94. I was going thru my paperwork from that time a few months ago.

It's embarrassing how little we were paid. I guess I was too young to realize that at the time. I hope it's better these days.
