Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Happy Monday

December 16, 2024: There are plenty of people who will beat you up for making a mistake, but that does not mean that you must whip yourself also. Fix what you can when you can and move on. Nobody on the earth is perfect, but that does not mean that you should not try to do the best you can in every situation. Gather your strength and forge ahead. Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

I'll believe Hunter is elite when he shows it in the NFL. Part of me thinks he'll be a bust. I don't think he'll live up to expectations. And talking about schedules, was Colorado's schedule really that tough? Without Texas and OU, does the Big 12 really deserve to be called a power conference? I'd lean no.
Was Jerry Rice' s Mississippi Valley State teams schedule tough? Was Tim Brown's Notre Dame teams schedule tough.

A college players teams schedule doesn't have anything to do with how well they perform in NFL. Too many NFL greats went to unknown college schools. Yes, Tim Brown won the Heisman trophy as well. It's the skill players have is what makes them adequate NFL players.

Do you? Because the only way the sportsbooks would lose money long term on gambling would be if games were fixed. So seems like there’s a multi-billion dollar industry that has a very strong motive to find ant corruption immediately.

It’s a lot harder to fix games when you can’t hide your bets across multiple independent (illegal) bookies that can’t share any info versus a companies that share data with state gaming commissions to find any irregularity in betting patterns
Well buddy I do know how it works. And I know that much of the crookedness is not due to gambling interest but tv ratings. Most of the time the gambling interests are concerned with balancing the books. Every once and a while an opportunity game comes up and that is when the outcome matters to them. And if you believe that all the these gambling interests, including the state, are independent entities then you are mistaken. You think the state gaming commissions are insuring everything is straight, that is really funny. They all are sharing info alright, but they are on the same team.
Between tv and gambling the amount of money is gargantuan and a big harvest it brings out the rats. My uncle told me when I was a kid. People say I am a gambler, I don't gamble. I own the book, it's a sure thing.

One of these please

I was watching this fella doing an OSU podcast and he was talking about all the reasons they were going to whip us. One of his reasons was tradition and he said that OSU owned Tennessee. This was the only game that I remembered us playing them, and I was right. We have only played Blowhio one time and beat them.

Never heard anyone call him phenomenal at Wyoming. His whole MO was how average he was and that's part of my point is that Levis was worse if you watch the game film despite WL having a higher comp %.

It's the horrendous decision making that is the difference.

I think you can see raw players get better, but if they have the catastrophic turnover gene, I don't think they can get over that. From Jameis Winston, Will Levis to JG.
Josh Allen most certainly has come a long way, he definitely was a raw talent coming out of college. He always was a freak athletically but he has really learned what he is doing now. Early he was mostly reactive and used athleticism to make plays, now he is dictating the game and making sh!t happen.

Was just thinking

Remember when we used Nico's legs in the redzone against Iowa? Worked. 3 TD's right?

Have we done that a single time all year this year? I mean we obviously (Dylan Sampson) don't need to, but idk, kinda makes me feel like it makes us more unstoppable down there.
The last few games there have been more designed qb runs, Nico taking off, and moving the pocket. At the beginning of the season I think the main concern was keeping Nico healthy. We will show the qb run and probably use it some if for no other reason than to keep it a threat and have OSU have to account for it.

I like that take by Wes

The dude has turned it over egregiously and showed zero poise from HS, Penn St, Kentucky and now the Titans.

It proves that a lot of ppl in sports are just not very bright and especially don't understand probability.

How the Titans, or anyone in the NFL thought they could make Will Levis who WAS DOG CRAP at Kentucky into a SUPER BOWL WINNING QB, is beyond all reason. The probability of that happening is slim to none. There no precedent of that ever.

"Wow look at that arm and talent!"

"Turns it over egregiously in almost every game of his football career? No big deal. Pick 6's and fumbles galore, stares down receivers, holds onto the ball too often. Meh, we can get him good enough to beat out guys like PATRICK MAHOMES FOR SUPER BOWLS"

Omg guys, who coulda saw that not working out! Totally made sense to risk your future over that one!
I think that the Titans and Will Levis are perfect for each other. Both are not very bright, don't understand probability and statistics, and like to make themselves look stupid. Match made in heaven.
A blind man who can't hear or smell could tell years ago that Levis was braindead clown.

During his last two years in college, it seemed like a non-stop barrage from the media about how pro-ready he was and how he was going to be an incredible pro quarterback.

It just never made sense to me. They just seemed to continue to overlook his flaws in college and keep spouting the same thing.

It almost like the CFB media has to create a story like this every year to hype TV ratings or something. It's like closing your eyes and reaching into hat with a bunch of names and running with the name you blindly picked all year long.
Anyone who doesn't see this as the main operating procedure in the media is a fool and a tool. And it ain't just football. And it is not merely overlooking the facts, it is the combination of lying and laziness. Crooks with an agenda and parrots too lazy to think for themselves or educate themselves.
T.H.I.N.K. for yourselves people. Tyranny is built on lies and useful idiots.
