Recruiting Football Talk VIII

What happened to Heupel scheming wide open receivers? Been a min since I've seen that.

I don’t understand anything with his offense anymore. You don’t see the wide open guys in space and we stopped going tempo. We don’t roll out the QB much anymore. Don’t see the Princeton Fant type unique plays anymore. It’s a shell of its former self.

We got some of the coaching. But there’s a couple glaring weak spots. CJH gotta put business first. He can get it done here making tough decisions. Oline play is unacceptable at this point. Whoever coaches linebackers needs to go too.
Just shows how ignorant some of you are. The LB coach you want fired just brought in a top 3 haul at the position cause he KNOWS we have issues. This team in 4 years has beat all my expectations from that terrible time. We need more players AND DEPTH to handle a long SEC grind.

We need more talent and if you want to fire coaches and start over, you deserve another Jeremy Pruitt and 15 more years of crap football. I’ll be outta here for good if that happens. Some of this fan base are either stupid or the biggest most immature puss and boots ever.

Running is not the “issue”. The issue is he does nothing well. He’s not a good runner that will win us a game with his legs. He’s looked quite bad running the ball most of the time on top of looking quite bad throwing the ball.
Whatever. He’s still learning progressions. He’s looked awesome when he lets it rip. He’s 14 games in…gets another year.

give me some fringe 4 star pro style with decent legs in 5a Georgia football who throws for 4600 yards and 50 touchdowns who can read pre snap and make adjustments on the call over elite athletic 5 star+ who can’t make the in game adjustments
Nico is young. We will have to give him grace. He definitely needs and I think will improve. Big offseason for him as well.

GFW out on Nico? Say it ain’t so. One of the most positive posters on the board has given up on the 8 million dollar man.

Yes. Not a hater, just out. Hope I’m wrong.

Nico doesn’t have time to go through his progressions. Our OL is so bad. He only has time to throw to his first read, hold on to the the ball and get sacked, or tuck and run.

Definitely has to learn how to throw the ball away, tends to hold on the ball too long sometimes.

All of our QB’s the past 4 years never threw the ball away frequently. Idk why

Nico had a lot of clean pockets. He only ran the ball tonight. His decision making is lacking.

Receivers don’t help at all tho

He didn’t have time against OU and Arkansas much and then began to panic in October. Both he and the OL got better toward the end. He had a few times tonight where he started to scramble but the back angle showed some WR’s with some separation.

Only bright spot because he ran the ball well, for him. He still cant throw the ball. And he’s not a good runner at all, he just had an extremely low bar set for his running ability so he exceeded expectations in that department.
No one was open because our WRs couldn’t get separation and our o-line got manhandled by a bunch of behemoths from Ohio farmlands. Wtf do you expect out of him when that’s happening? The dude is megatron over here.

Banks is a finalist or something for the Frank Broyles award. Not sure why. When his DL gets checked, he has no idea how to adjust. It's like he despises blitzing. That's unnatural for a DC.

Garner, I love the dude, but this is twice his DL has played poorly against patched up OLs. WTF is going on there? Why can't our guys beat backup OL?

Ekeler, I love his special teams for the most part, but his DEs should be playing better. Pearce is way too damn talented not to have gotten to the QB more.

Inge. This is his first year and he didn't inherit the greatest of talent, not to mention he lost Pili from his group. Still wait and see on him.

Willie Mo had a much-improved group this year, but they couldn't cover elite WRs tonight. I'll always have my doubts about him, but his group was pretty good for us this year.

Both sides of the ball, we need to consider bringing in more help for the coaches. Assistants like Chop have helped our recruiting. We need more of that.
Michigan laid the blue print and we didn’t follow it. We got confused and out of position a lot. Shoulda just played press zone and dared them to beat us that way.

It’s not on garner, or ekeler. Inge, linebackers could have played better. Defensive backs could have been better. I think this one is really on halzle and banks. They did not seem prepared.
