That 19 ranking is garbage and doesn't take into account the higher rated guys we have that aren't contributing much or are injured. We have a few holdover guys and other teams refuse and Heupel has wrung every last drop out of them he could get.

Arkansas is 28th and SC is 21st. Both of those rosters are considered disasters. Both teams have more players than we do. If Arkansas gets praised for year 2 and “that roster” then Heupel should get just as much for the work done managing ours. Outside of the top 5, things become far more equitable in terms of player quality. That said, quality hasn’t been the issue as much as quantity and that’s because Tennessee has gotten the most out of a small and previously underperforming roster.

Yes, with our lack of speed on the defense the staff is trying to limit big plays. Just trying to keep us in games and out score our opponents. Worked against KY, but did not against Pitt and Ole Miss. If they had pulled it off in those two games, we would be building a statue for Heupel

I beg to differ..it actually did work in the Pitt and Ole Piss games...those games were literally stolen by crooked officials. We beat Ole Piis and Pitt...we didn't beat the rotten Zebras.

Meh. Kirby is obviously lying.. But it’s a joke so does it really matter?.. I took it as one, I assume most did.

Semantics and all, but a joke would have been “I asked him when I could start recruiting his son”. The way he said it, he was taking a shot at UT.

This actually did get me to thinking, though. We obviously saw the recruitment and signing of Peyton a certain way. And I can now imagine how Ole Miss fans must have felt. Like early in the recruitment, they would have probably been indignant at the suggestion that Archie’s son would go anywhere other than Ole Miss. And then how rotten it must have felt when he actually didn’t go there.

I know he is we a west coast guy. Maybe UW is better fit than Ole Miss. But is it a better job? I guess its easier to make the CFP there than Ole Miss, for sure. I see the reports UW will be looking at BYU coach. I am sure Harsin wishes he'd waited a year to jump.

Does Kiffin end up at LSU or Washington at the conclusion of this season? Or does he wait for the Florida job to open up after 2022?

I think that Kiffin is waiting around for Florida. He admires Spurrier (visor boiz) and he knows all of the built-in advantages there. Plus he still has connections in So Fla, which is the most important area to recruit to be successful at any of the Florida schools. With a weak FSU and Miami, someone with charisma and momentum like Kiffin could completely control the state and be a menace in the conference.

He could troll Tennessee. I don't think he's scared of Kirby. LSU is in a transition as well.

I don't think that Kiffin ends up back in the NFL, but after seeing Kingsbury (of all people) be successful in the NFL, I wouldn't put it past anyone else giving it a shot. NFL is going through an identity crisis right now.
