At my parents home in Knoxville, they found several pieces of mail in their yard addressed to Jackson the day after that tornado.I've got several friends from college day that live up there. Thank God they are all safe.
So sad. Reminds me of Jackson, TN in 1999 when I lived there. It will forever change their lives. Prayers!
Tornadoes are so weird...we saw a lot of crazy stuff in 2010 and 2011 in NE Alabama. In Rainsville a Huddle House was leveled killing over a dozen people and not 100 feet away were some small metal storage sheds perfectly intact. That particular storm missed our house by less than a quarter mile...I watched it as it went by.So this is funny and by funny I mean taking the small victories with the bad.
Machine / boat shed (excuse the junk)

About three hundred feet in between the two.
Out of curiosity, what was the house made of? Brick or siding? I have (possibly false) belief that living in a brick house nowhere near any trees is a good way to avoid dying in a tornado. I've never seen a tornado destroy a well built brick house unless a tree fell on it, but I've never really researched it.April 2006 wife’s family home place hit by tornado-two story house-wood working shop-mechanic shop
equipment shed-barn-grain bins all gone. Found two empty mason jars still sitting on a shelf in what was
a basement but now totally exposed.
We bought the land built a house and shop moved in this past August. Built a safe room in our walk in closet. Spend last night testing it out.
Wow. Just reading through the thread with it going back and forth between the storm and rankings kinda puts everything into perspective.
Spyre talked to Zach and they talk to a lot of recruits that want to know about NIL and what they do is lay out how there are opportunities in Knoxville and explain the benefits of being a student athlete in Tennessee and how that can help you with NiL deals during school and also having that VFL network after school.
The “free Gus’ chicken” thing is really annoying to me and insulting to the people that put the work in, because that comes from them discussing the show with AP on Tuesdays as just an example of ways kids can grow their brand and exposure with the fanbase. Which a lot of places don’t have.
When that storm passed I was dating a girl that lived in the apartment complex on Murray Guard Drive basically right across 45bypass from union university which was hit hard. I’ll never forget the sound. She said grab the dog. I was like F the dog lets get in the tub. The drive home after was so eerie feeling. Super scary stuff.I've got several friends from college day that live up there. Thank God they are all safe.
