I’m kinda thinking this might end up hurting high school players - teams could fill up out of the portal because more will know about academics, etc. That could leave even less slots for high school players…

If they move early signing period to the 1st week of January it won’t hurt High school kids. They will of just graduated and they would still sign a month before the February signing period. Plus most coaching changes would be done by this time.

Haha gotcha. I was just pulling your chain.
Man, it's tempting, thing looks like a blast. Just not sure how practical it would be to use for anything else than fun and probably way too dangerous for that. About like a jet ski for the air. It's just a 1 seater and no storage space whatsoever. Would be cool to take on the water though, it is amphibious.

When that storm passed I was dating a girl that lived in the apartment complex on Murray Guard Drive basically right across 45bypass from union university which was hit hard. I’ll never forget the sound. She said grab the dog. I was like F the dog lets get in the tub. The drive home after was so eerie feeling. Super scary stuff.
Edit
Sorry wrong storm I was thinking of the one that passed through a few years later.
I was there for both.........Lived about a mile and a half from Murray Guard Drive.
Also lived in the same apartments in 96 and 97. Small world

Out of curiosity, what was the house made of? Brick or siding? I have (possibly false) belief that living in a brick house nowhere near any trees is a good way to avoid dying in a tornado. I've never seen a tornado destroy a well built brick house unless a tree fell on it, but I've never really researched it.
For a weaker tornado (which most are), you're correct. A well constructed house made of brick or masonry is going to withstand stronger winds. Just want to make sure it's anchored to the foundation or slab appropriately. Usually taking shelter in an interior room away from windows will keep you safe in a majority of tornadoes. It's these more rare strong and violent tornadoes like we saw yesterday that are more difficult to shelter from. They're devastating.

You can look more at construction and wind estimates here:

Brick is stronger but obviously not immune. Our city requires a certain percentage of a built house to be brick. We had a tornado a couple of streets over from us in 1994. My family and I got there before emergency personnel. 4,000+ square foot houses with severe damage and off their foundation. But they weren’t like some of the pictures that I saw in Mayfield with just a slab. We had good friends that had to rebuild their entire house, and it was a mostly brick house.

Yeah, maybe not as bad as it sounds, considering the way the bird flies distance. If it's any sort of success, I'd say we'll see it become more common over the next 30 years. . . like a jet ski, imo.
70K is pretty steep for a toy.

They'd have to get that range up, and add some practicality for it to be worth that kind of price. Or, to make it worth it for any but the very wealthy. I'd definitely drop 70k on something like that as transportation. Not so much as a toy.

Hey late to the party here--- but did we ever figure out, or was it posted whether or not Purdue's two big play makers entering the draft were going to sit out the bowl or not?

I agree and $70k is probably just where it starts. Maintenance, storage, insurance, added features, etc, I could see it well over $100k.

Maybe it's like the plasma tv's when they first came out. . . a 240p 42" for $15k, 😆

Also, with the new rule on 32 signees if you have people leave. That gives teams even more spots to replace with portal so it keeps it from hurting High School recruits.
This is a one year waiver to allow 32 in a signing period. Not intended to be the new normal.
