On 4th down? Why would you try to avoid a turnover? If you're not in the endzone on 4th down, you do whatever it takes to get there. How own player was trying to get him to stretch the ball out by pulling on him lol

I think it’s more that he tried to get in without risking the ball security first and then extended over. Seen that sequence play out many times on the goal line… just not seen the play ruled dead in the middle of it.

Overall we had a really good year. I've said all season if we finish with 6 wins and get bowl eligible that would be the goal. We finished with 7 wins and a play or not being screwed by the refs away from potentially a 10 win season in year 1.

Let's not forget all the starters and contributors we lost coming into this season. What CJH and his staff has done has been remarkable. They just need time and for us to be patient. They haven't been on the job a full year yet.

We can all agree that our staff is not perfect and they have to continue to improve along with our players and the roster in general. Recruiting will have to continue to improve but I feel 1000% times better this December about the direction of the program than I did this time last year.

Let's finish this recruiting cycle strong and land some impact transfers and get this thing rolling for next fall.

Bad officiating crews should not be rewarded with postseason games period. It's bad in every sport. In this years World Series they had some of the worst umpires at calling balls and strikes and if I remember correctly the worst in the entire league was part of the crew. It's embarrassing. Not sure if college has a union but it's 100% to blame in MLB.
Can you name a good officiating crew?

Here is a fact for everyone...dumbass negas and dumbass sunshine pumpers alike..

Once we have any semblance of just a decent defense, this is a 10+ win team...hell it already was this year if not for garbage cheating bent refs even with a horrid defense.

For those that say they see no hope, it is because you have your ******* eyes closed dumbass.

It takes players…& one thing we currently do not have is good players defensively.
We're not getting a huge influx of talent right now. The players We're getting in this class are similarly rated as the previous players. Unless we get some good players in the portal, we're looking at a similar roster talent wise. Maybe a little deeper.

It is obvious that some of the talent we have on defense in the backend was overrated...I hope that our evaluations and development are a little better going forward.

Ratings don’t matter unless you are in the top 5 and sometimes not even then…. We will find out what kind of evaluators our coaches are soon enough…. We need a few stars…. The majority be a solid college player and very few misses…. If we do that then we will continue to grow as a program.

At what point do they do something about the "injury" game stoppage ? I heard that CJH and company don't mind because by the other team doing it they know they are doing something right. For the sake of the game they should either make the player set out for the rest of the series or charge them a time out or something. I think setting out the rest of the series would be best. If someone is really hurt they should do that at a minimum anyway. I'll take my SKITTLES and slowly make my way back to my corner now. Thinking about serious issues is not what I am really designed to do.........as I am sure many of you can attest to.......SQUIRREL !!!! See what I mean.

People complained about it but I went back and looked to see how bad it was….. I was shocked to find out that it was the best our secondary had performed since the early 2000’s…. Fans tend to live in the moment and overreact but the stats show that he was better than many thought….. we do need better secondary play but as of right now, I feel it is a talent issue but also enhanced by the lack of pass rush that our front four generates.

I think the talent level was much better his 1st go around. Significantly better safety play. We also had some of the best pass rushing during his time as well. They do go hand in hand. I think Sutton and safety play from TKJR were what made those secondary's good. I'll give him credit for the development but those dudes were studs. Sutton was severely underrated imo. Outside of him the other corners had the same issues.

We need great talent because it's obvious Banks can't do more with less, i.e. Heupel. We'll just have to wait to see who's right. I have an idea that Banks won't be here in 2023.

In regards to that, if have a defense rated in the bottom half of the SEC next year, do you still think he's good or do you think he needs 4-5 years to produce a better than average defense?

I do wonder if WB is being taught to face guard the WR and look back in comparison to most DBs of having your back to the WR's chest and look back. It may be a technique issue which may fall on WM.

Now all of these DPI on Burrell weren't good calls but a few I can see why the ref threw the flag.

It could be. He's the weakest of the group though and hasn't gotten better since his 1st snap.

Tim Banks is a weak link.

Kick me out of the ring? Take this 🤣🤣🤣 He may not pan out, but at least give them a chance to get some players first

I don't know any by name but like my baseball comparison earlier...some of the worst umps calling the WS and I think the worst of them all made the crew.. you don't reward bad refs if they have a reputation like that crew apparently does. I really prefer crews that let them play tbh. I really just want the blatant calls to be whistled.

Recruiting is going to have to hit another level as well. You’re not beating Alabama and Georgia if you’re not stacking top 5 classes on top of one another. You’re not going to out coach them, so your players better be just as good to have a chance. Going to be a lot of angry people around here when Georgia beats Alabama in a rematch. That machine in Athens will just be getting cranked.
This machine you talk of has been trying to get cranked for quite awhile.
