Exactly. And before people say its only $60 a year. Or 120 a year or whatever the minimum donation is per month. You know what I could do with $60, take my parents out to eat twice at a place we like to go. Buy clothes or other things for my little nephew. Hell its a tank of gas now days. I could get a ticket to one of the lesser games on the schedule with that money. There are way more practical uses for me to hang on to that $60 than give it to some college kid that doesnt know me from Adam.
Schools who are raking in the money should be the ones responsible for funding NIL. Thats one thing I do like about pro sports, yes fans buy tickets, merchandise etc but the players contracts come from the revenue the sport produces or from the owners pockets. Fans arent asked to directly pay contracts like colleges are trying to do.
Lastly, I dont blame big donors for checking out, 1.Like @LA Vol has mentioned time and time again TN donors have been asked over and over to give with no return eventually those people will check out. 2. Big time donors give to schools because they get a tax break, NIL doesnt provide anything like that for the donors, so where does it make sense to give?

"It's up to someone else to fund the product that I expect to get for free. I will also complain fiercely if they don't fund that product well enough to meet my satisfaction."

And for those using the logic that the program sucks and they won't donate to NIL until the program shows improvement, that's some pretty asinine logic. It's like stating that you won't invest in repairs until the car is running smoothly.

Nobody is making you guys give it’s just if we lose out on a big recruit due to a bidding war don’t come on here and blame the coaching staff or university is that fair?
Fans have already been blamed. So exactly who gets the blame if not the University. I do not even attempt to blame the staff, this is out of their control. We do need to know who to blame so we can complain about it. Who do you suggest?

Businesses often times use profits and put them back into their products to improve their product and thus improve their profit margin. Asking someone else to improve your product while you can continue to rake in record profit is poor business practice.

Lol what? your reasoning is blame the University because we got simply outbid for a recruit through a multi millionaire donor. Do you not see how your logic is flawed? Again are NIL is good but not that good

What should they change? If it wasn’t for a very invested Miami billionaire, we would’ve landed Francis. So what could our administration have done differently?
I think you’re just frustrated and eager to point the finger without thinking it through

So we don’t have billionaires? Wait we don’t have billionaires who are on the verge of bankruptcy?

The administration has been bending over for the sec for 10 years.

Next time I’ll beat that billionaire for you.
Really I understand the collective process but do we really need the constant infomercial?

Just get off the board you are just spouting nonsense at this point

We missed on a recruit….. this class is ahead of pace of where it should be in the second year of a new head coach…. Stop overreacting.

And how about those posting 100 different times that those who dont give arent real fans? Or posting the link over and over saying everyone should give? How about those people quit bitching and those who dont give and give more.

Bitching that someone won't improve the product that you expect for free is called "entitlement".

Then blame donors.. that’s not admin. To be fair, our donors seem to be doing more than most schools. Just not spending out of their minds like Ruiz. We have other things going on, like facilities/stadiums renovations going on too that they’re funding

No I am asking who do you suggest? Is it the University , Spyre or the fans

Whats free about the price of cable, tickets, gas, parking, purchasing merchandise, and everything else that goes along with supporting a team or program? Im entitled because I believe the schools should pay the contracts of these kids like any other sports organization does, then call me entitled.
Or how about dont raise the price on the same product that ive spent X on for years. If im not getting a return on my money, I go find another product when the price doesnt fit whats delivered.

I was told by a local media guy that the Haslams have checked out. Jimmy and wife don't even live in Knoxville now, at least most of the year. @LA Vol has said Charlie E doesn't have any interest in supporting athletics. He does buy advertising so I thought NIL (legitimate marketing opportunities) might tempt him but idk. There's the guy that owns HT Hackney company, he's boosted in the past. Thunder is an oldie but not sure where he is. Owner of Ruby Tuesdays maybe? And, you've got Peyton. I'd be willing to bet he's contributing but I'm not sure what level.

Haslam blew his load on a sex offender QB. His brother is looking to buy a pro hockey team. I’m not so sure the focus is on the UT football program.

Buddy nobody is making anybody do anything and you know that…what is your argument? Are you really mad ppl are trying to get ppl to join our NIL so that we can putt better offers out there potentially to recruits….what a weird hill to die on for a supposed Tennessee fan

Losing such a prized recruit felt like losing a game we were expected to win. It sucked. And if we're being honest, we were feeling really good about our chances of landing this kid. At least up until the last few days. Hell, I still thought we were landing him. So yeah, right now, it hurts. And just like when we lose one of those games, I'm probably going to be moping around a few days, cursing under my breath, all pissed off. I don't take losing well. So I apologize to those of you who cope differently, but this is how I cope. Vol football means an unhealthy amount too much to me. I know. But I can't let go, dammit.

And I still want to nutkick a Haslam. I blame them for the last 15 years.
