Heupel is young. You want him fired because he took 5 years to build us into a 10 + win program? He could be our coach for 25 years.

If he wins 10+ for 20 years....id day that is worth it.

Yep. Imagine if Stoops took over as TN coach. He would have been canned in year 3. This whole thing about firing every 3-4 years is one of the big reasons why we are where we are. At no some point we have to give a coach a real chance to rebuild.

I see 10-2 or 9-3 as real possibilities this year. We just need the defense to play solid. They don't have to play great, just solid. As long as they do that, the offense should win games.
Both sides need to play solid.

When they do that, that's how we get up on a South Carolina 38-7 with 5 mins left in the 2nd qtr...
When we don't we scorless for 2 qtrs....
Yeah people forget we didn't push it to 45 until 4 mins left in the 4th qtr. Tennessee had 5 offensive drives....with no points.

Part of the 38-7 surge was UTs defense causing turnovers, and the offense capitalizing. Game ended at 45-21 i think.

Purdue: look at the scoring summary for that game.
It happened against Ole Miss and Pitt too.
It's the losing in the same way all 3 times.
Bad coaching on 3rd and short on offense. Breakdowns on 3rd and long defense.

It's NOT one side. Both sides need improvement.

Ono he said whiffed some folks will be triggered.
Honestly that's fine. Right now just stacking really good players is what this roster needs. Then in another year or two get the guys that will take the roster over the top. It was always highly unlikely the Vols would be true NC contenders before 25 at least after the Pruitt fiasco anyways.

I'm concerned we may not have as much money for NIL, as I have been thinking all these months; and, FM's recruitment has brought on a bit of concern, and if we don't land Bradley...yeah, somethings up, imo.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe there's an article from 3 to 5 months back, Spyre's initial goal was 5 mill, something like that, then they said that went to 25, 30 mill, annually....that on top with what Nico supposedly got, I thought they were stacking cash. I believe I was wrong.

That dude showing up in here, telling us only 600 or so are signed up, plus this recruitment, with it being Miami that landed him...yeah, I don't believe we have anywhere near 25, 30 mill. If we did, I truly believe we would have landed at least one of FM, Burley, Tate, Benson, Kasper, CJ Allen, Parker, Faulk, Rojas...at least one of them. My reasoning, A&M took several away from Bama, UGA, and OSU last year...with straight cash, homey.

Spyre needs more money, and im not sure they're going to get it anytime soon. They're going to have to hustle their asses off during the season, and we have to win.

What coach should we have given more of a chance? Kiffin left us. Dooley was garbage and getting worse. Butch had 5 years. And Pruitt was a walking NCAA infraction…

It’s more about quality hires and we may have actually gotten that with Heupel.

Our billionaires are not Miami billionaires?

How many of us peons need to throw in 200 to get 20 million? We have to back out spyre’s fee. I’m eating rice and imitation chicken two times a day, but I can move down to one meal a day.

Where is @WillAtSpyre ?

Agree. When Spyre guy said 600 members he added “plus about 25 (may have said 45, I didn’t hear exactly) other contributors. I now think that those other contributors were the big $ sponsors/businesses that enabled the Nico deal. I think Spyre has a budget & rough numbers for certain positions, so they don’t really dive deep into counter offers. Just my opinion obviously.

I know plenty who disagree with becoming a Volunteer Club member, & I respect their decision. But there’s a ton of fans who either don’t know about it or have heard of it but don’t really know what’s involved. Obviously it will take more than just us peons but I get enough enjoyment out of UT sports that it was an easy decision for me - makes me feel like I’m giving my all! 😉 Not sure what your 20 million comment is in reference to but just 50,000 fans at $5/mo level it would generate $3 million/yr.

I get it...I would never ask someone for something they don't have, or barely have. However, MORE money and NIL is today's reality, whether it's supported or not.
