You do know that we are talking about from a fan perspective…. Analytics determined that shooting threes…. Layups/dunks…. Free throws was the most efficient way to score…. Same thing with baseball…. Homeruns/walks/strikeouts is the most efficient ways to play the game…. Even though accurate… it has made both less pleasing to watch…. Basketball during the 80’s had many different kinds of teams…. Show time lakers…. The brilliant passing of the Celtics…. The defensive teams like the bad boy pistons…. The New York knicks…. It was awesome watching those contrasts in teams play each other…. Now every team plays the exact same style…. There would have been more shooters back in the 80’s if todays style was what was taught…. Could you imagine Steph Curry playing in that era with guys being able to touch him…. It would be fun to see him adjust…. I would love to see Allen Iverson(my fave) play in todays era with everything spread open and no one being able to touch him…. He would go off!Analytics has driven the nba to more of a “shooters” league. If you can’t shoot, you have been marginalized severely. A lot of players are no longer in the league b/c they can’t shoot. On average, each nba team had 1 or 2 players on the team that could shoot. The rest of players were paint guys, “enforcers”, or defensive guys. Tell me you don’t understand basketball w/o saying you don’t understand basketball. Lmao if my perspective was nonsense, the NBA wouldn’t transformed into what it has today. 80’s bball <current gen bball.
Fighting isn’t good for sports (excl ufc/boxing). That’s why it’s virtually outlawed in hockey, obsolete in the NBA, baseball rarely, and non-existence in football. Nobody wants to see that crap. people want to see offense across the board in sports (ftball, bball, soccer, hockey, baseb). That’s why we have all of these rule changes, some of the rules are ludicrous, but that’s the con of having offensive driven sports now. Protect the superstars. You do know that we are talking about from a fan perspective…. Analytics determined that shooting threes…. Layups/dunks…. Free throws was the most efficient way to score…. I miss 80’s hockey. That’s what made me a semi fan.Fighting isn’t good for sports (excl ufc/boxing). Too much at stake (money) to throw hands. Sports back then and now are just the microcosm of the society’s culture we live in at the time. Society is more sensitive, aware, conscious, compassion etc… now and it shows in sports. Back then, society was less of the adjectives from above and it was displayed in our sports…. Society has changed (hopefully for the better) and so has sports. They are tied to the hipI miss 80’s hockey. That’s what made me a semi fan.
Looks like we are going to take a step back in baseball. Ten drafted (not sure how many come back) and we lost a least 2 of the guys we picked up from the portal.
We got Balcus one of the top jucos in the country as well… catcher is a troublesome position though. We are still going to be very talented. We may never see a 56-7 team ever again, regardless of talent on the roster. Losing Alexander, the catcher, was surprising to me and may hurt the most. But our pitching should be dominant again.
There is a special place in hell for the people that put these dogs in that position. If I could take one ,I would take all 15.this makes my blood boil
Want to rescue one of 4,000 beagles? Humane Society of Chattanooga says it can help
