I thought I saw a quote from Currie earlier in the day that the expectations for Tennessee football is championships.

Gotta start with the stadium, things like, you know, coaches and players and winning games aren’t as important.

I think Patterson, Petersen, Fisher, Fuente, Gundy, Whittingham and Shaw are probably happy where they are, so Mullen looks to be the best P5 HC realistically available. Can't see us considering Petrino or Leach.

So how do you say "no reason to get depressed yet"?

You did. Does he mean it? Guess we’ll see when he hires someone. If he hires a Bobo we’ll know that was hot air

So IF we hired that coach and we won a championship, would you come on here and eat a giant helping of crow? No one can know what will happen to the team based on a hire.

If we hire another bargain hire, maybe we can get Roto Rooter to sponsor our field like Kroger does Kentucky because we will probably see some
**** for the next 3-5 years that’ll piss everyone off.

Hey Currie, what happened to "Will it help us win"?

300+mil on the stadium? Will it help us win? No John, it wont.

I dont care if they play on the runway at McGhee Tyson, just get somebody in here that can win the games that matter.

Oh come on..anybody that knows anything about football can extrapolate. Don't stop be..lievin!

Everyone is looking to blame all the others: Haslam, Davenport, the AA. I don't think you have to look any further than the guy tasked with making the hire.

No excuses, if we get a crappy coach, it's John Currie's fault. No one is standing in his way.

My cousins, friends, brothers, uncles, sister in-law's mail man knows Gruden and says Gruden said he'd accept only after we did the renovations. Currie is a genius! #Soon

Underrated name and he is at his Alma matter but man Pat Fitzgerald is a helluva coach.

Curries got bigger things to worry about...Like making FIFA happy once a decade..

Would be the first one to do it. I’ve even cross before, I’ll eat it again I’m sure. But Currie is bungling this whole thing right now. He’ll have to prove it

The War Room said Brooks is the RT this weekend and he hasn’t played a game since he was a sophomore TE in HS. Lol

I didn't say that Currie said the goal was no longer winning championships; I just said that it seemed like he had softened his stance. He took an aggressive stance back in the summer, saying that UT football wasn't winning enough and we expect to always win championships at UT. Today, he said that we need to look at it a game at a time and think about championships at the end of the season. He also talked about winning championships in the future like we have in the past. His take felt different to me, so I posted it.

No need to spin it to be something darker or more dire than what it was.
