They havent since Lawson left. Sure you have certain guys that bust their arses but as a team no. And you can just look at our guys and tell. Remember when fulmer was here and you would here about various players breaking bench, squat, etc records... that hasnt happened in a long time.
I dont blame vol fans at all or being upset with the current state under butch or with Dooley. I think my biggest gripe was over the petition to hire Pearl. That was an awful look for our program. Im just worried that people are so in love with Gruden that I think anyone other than him is gonna be automatically in a hole just bc their name isnt Gruden.
I also think Currie is in that same boat right now. He wasnt Blackburn or Fulmer (the fan favorites) and he has dont nothing but great things so far. He brought back the LVs, Execured a baseball search beautifully that looks like he made a great hire. He (and Bev) stopped a lot of out sourcing that shouldve never been thought about. And people are already calling for his head bc he hasnt fired butch yet. So have people really given him a fair chance?
I have been saying this for a while. Look at our LBs - they have no muscle tone at all. Warrior, Fils-Aime, Kongbo are ripped, but it is hard to come up with too many others.
Btw, I appreciate you hanging in here and keeping your cool after the blowback.
In contrast, Deerpark apparently deleted his account.
Everything has two sides of it. The previous ADs have completely dropped the ball I mean hell look at some of our past hires:
Todd Raleigh
Derek Dooley
Lane Kiffin
Dont Tyndall
Dave Serrano
None of them worked out in the least bit. But I just want people to give Currie a chance because of the things that have been accomplished so far. Just because we are in the dark doesnt mean nothing is happening.

Ok. Ill connect the dots for you. Fans are acting a fool because they have zero faith in our AD to pull us out of this decade of mediocrity. The fans are tired of the program being the laughing stock, not only of the conference, but of college football.
We are known perpetually as the fan base that says next year is our year. We rally behind no name coaches that get hired in the hopes that they pan out.
Before you get to the winning at a high level consistently is hard argument, I can name at least 20+ programs who do every year.
Our fans are living the definition of insanity from the AD. Hire up and comer, rally behind them, fire coach, look for next up and comer. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Meanwhile the Bamas, tOSUs, the Clemsons, the Penn States (who just exited from the freaking death penalty), the Wisconsins (really), and about 15 other programs consistently enjoy more success. And our fans shouldnt be pissed off? Shouldnt be delusional hoping that for once the AD doesnt screw it up?
Get over yourself.
If he doesn't take a job during this offseason, when would he take a job?
I wonder if there's a particular job he's waiting for, or if he doesn't think he's ready.
Live. Ive seen us lose a lot on my tv
- Credit on LVs.
- Hard to say anything about the baseball coach, he hasn't even coached a game yet.
- Rightly or wrongly, no one outside the university is ever going to care about the outsourcing thing or know if hit was the right decision.
- Currie is not above criticism for his handling of this coaching transition so far. However, I said I would withhold judgment until a hire was made, so I'm willing to just say "pending" on this one.
