If this is true, Butch must really believe in him, because it would be hell to fire your mentor if it doesn't work out..

Is it BS? He said best staff in America. Do the recruiting classes not point to him getting it done? Why not trust what he says now with this hire?

Recruits would be no more excited about Durden or countless other names and the few really hot/big names that are out there only serve to grab a first look or generate a little bit of initial buzz. Spurrier wasn't even on campus when Nick visited and the lack of relationship building is the reason Nick Chubb didn't choose South Carolina. He was also asked who was the most difficult to turn down. His answer: Butch Jones because of the relationship he had with Jones and the rest of our staff.

If this is the hire, stop panicking and give the guy a

chance.

Speaking of panicking. Hiring the first guy you interview in 2 days reeks of a panic hire.

Just to be clear. I don't care for all the negativity going on in this thread. I don't like seeing you folks repeating the same complaints over and over. That will be just about enough of that. Thanks.

I'm not worried about recruiting no matter the result. The only person we even have to consider worrying about is PW. Our staff is the best recruiting staff in America.

I am worried for our offense though. I have faith in Butch so I'll give this guy benefit of the doubt till he shows what he can do.

The Cincy staff was meh for me now and was then. Do you really think this is even a top 10 staff? From a recruiting standpoint I don't see many better but from a coaching standpoint especially offensively, there are 10 -20 staffs that I would pick over our guys.

7 Wins when I needed to see 6. Won the bowl game easily. Recruiting is going well. I'll roll with what we have for now. 8-9 wins in 2015 or I'll have more to say about it.
