What the hell is Rucker talking about with "DeBord helped usher in the spread at a couple of programs"?

He was at Michigan from 92-99, where they ran the typical 3 yards and a cloud of dust under Lloyd Carr. DeBord did try the spread at CMU, where he went 12-34 from 2000-03. After getting fired, he returned to Michigan as a ST/TE coach from 04-07 once again under Carr. Everything after that was as a TE coach in the league and everything before was as an OL coach at smaller schools where I doubt he had any input in offensive philosophies.

Yeah its all positive spin. Sounds like a done deal. Probably just waiting on ZA details before anything is released.

also no offer from harbough to join his staff.. that speaks volumes in itself.

Ah, if that speaks volumes, imagine the story that is told by the fact that with all Volnation's knowledge and experience, no-one is offering for us to be involved in these high level coaching hiring decisions.

Damn these AD's, or team owners, or coaches, for passing up such pristine decision making ability from the message boards...

I am convinced that most of us cannot actually dress ourselves in the morning, and making a decision between Hardee's and McDonald's has probably ruined more than a few mornings among our members, but somehow...coaching decisions with millions of dollars at stake are so easy that anyone with access to google can do it for free.

Well it looks like VN will be divided until Sept. Fantastic.

I think the angst is more from worrying about a few of our commits jumping ship at the last minute, namely Preston Williams, Bussey, and Boulware. If we hold onto them, add Richmond and/or Allen I think most will take a wait and see approach.

No, but the pay sites are spinning the positive.

Prepare ye the way of DeBord!

This is the kind of hire that will bring a ****load of heat on Butch if the offense stumbles out of the gate next year.

Let's just say that we start 2-2 next year with losses to OU & UF, where the defense looks way better than the offense....well, it'll be time to buckle up.

Yep. If our class stays together I won't complain, but will be very worried. If we start losing folks because of the hire, well... VN enter meltdown mode
