He would ball out at Carson Newman bro. I'm a fan of his effort, but he doesn't have it. There are just as many busts from him as solid plays. The GT game changed my mind on him. He's a couple steps too slow to play in the SEC. A couple steps slow in the SEC=Touchdowns.

.

My take -

First game of the year, first start for QD, first game jitters, gimmick offense that is legit and returned most of their starters

Take the damn W and run - don't look back

If I'm Florida....I'm worried about playing UT.

Tennessee's offense scored 42 points - Florida's scored 3.

Tennessee's defense played against a triple option offense. Florida's defense played against an offense that they will pretty much see every week in the SEC...and couldn't stop it.

Tennessee's QB struggled early on, but put it together when it mattered. Unfortunately for Florida.....he's already better than all of their QB's combined.

We have John kelly....they don't.

:hi:

Saw him helping out with some pass pro on some plays. Good that he's catching onto the different aspects of being a RB

Can't wait to watch him run this weekend. Let Kelly and the O build a lead and then let's see what we got with JG, Chandler, CFA, Palmer and the rest of the young WR core. The talents there. Gotta get the some experience and see who's ready to try and do the same in the swamp.

My favorite new player is Trey Smith. OL with a very mean streak. After a while opposing players just wanted to stay away from him. Bad A$$ I was disappointed to see Chandler only get 1 running play, but looked good that 1 play. I want to see more.
Him and Jack Jones are absolute maulers run game will benefit greatly.

2. Play for and make the breaks and when one comes your way - SCORE.

3. If at first the game - or the breaks - go against you, don't let up... put on more steam.

6. Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made.

7. Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes.

My dude

Before GT I was thinking Kongbo would be our leading sack artist, but now I'm definitely thinking Taylor. He made a ton of big plays. Caused the fumbled pitch they recovered early in the game, in addition to everything else we've been praising him for. I think he'll get multiple multi sack games on his way to double digit sacks.

I think our fan base is one of the most committed in all of sports, I also think a vast portion of our fanbase needs to be committed..We have got to be the worst at self flagellation in all of football. It is insane. I have never seen so many fans hate on their team like we do. We win an exhilarating game, and all anybody can do is gripe about how we won, some are nearly apologetic to GT that we "stole" this game.

This is rediculous, we are rediculous, I will include myself because I am also guilty. Butch Jones and this team do not embarrass me or us..We do a excellent job of doing that.

*ridiculous... But i'm with you

Thinking 700 yards for Chandler and 1200 for Kelly.

Can't wait to see the offense in a game with more series. Definitely agreed with riding out QD in that game but I'll stick to my off-season belief that seeing both in the same game here and there can be beneficial and keep opposition.off balance. It can work when both bring different skill sets to the table. Plus, it may actually be necessary to sneak out a win down the line.

yes! I want the starters to establish the game, then let the backups play for real. I don't want us just sitting on the game once we see we have it, need to let the boys get good experience and confidence. Wouldn't mind for JG to play at least 3/4 of the game.

Hearing every GT player and coach say they should have won has gotten old. No, they shouldn't have won. They shouldn't have gotten that close to winning. UT was always the more talented team. The more talented team usually finds a way to win. And we did.

In the record book there's an L next to their name. All that matters. They can cry all they want.

Agreed. I go to one game a year. Last year was Ohio after our OT win v App St. We looked terrible and it was inexplicable. Praying we come out on fire. If not, consider me concerned.

Just got home from a 12 hour shift. My wife had this waiting for me. Just reminded me I could've woke up this morning as the fan of a losing team. 1-0. On to the next game with a chance to be 2-0.

You're a very good and positive poster. Being part American Indian decent, I love your screen name.

I know facts are frowned upon in here but I just did a quick search of all current SEC head coaches and their number of conference titles. The debate is often whether or not Butch can successful coach/develop players. Here's what I found:

1. Saban 9 conference titles in his head career

2. Butch 4

3. Bielema 3

4. Malzhan 2

5. Freeze 2

Every other current head SEC Coach with 0.

Idk where you've been the last couple of months but Hugh Freeze isn't currently an SEC head coach.

I feel like we took the Ali approach when he faced Foreman. We took it and took it and took it all game, and to everyone else (including me), we seemed out of it. Then, when it mattered most, we took our shots and KO'd them.

Haha. That's a good analogy but I'd rather drop the rope-a-dope strategy a little sooner next time.

Rewatching game. It appears tape is sped up every time John Kelly has the ball. He is the fastest running back I've seen at Tennessee and has a viscous mean streak.

Callaway is a monster and fitting to be wearing #1.

If A QB can emerge as elite we will have a devastating offense.

I won't lie Chandler is faster than Kelly. Kid is FAST
