still here and went to first game in 69 as a baby

so you know where you can stick that Braves joke

the same place where Butch can stick that last possession play calling

:)

LOL, glad you have been loyal. There are a ton of Braves and Cubs bandwagon fans. There are not as many people wearing Braves gear because they have not been good for a good while. I have some good friends who are loyal to them too.

I don't get the Chip Kelly love at all. Sure, he runs an offense that puts up a ton of yards and lights the scoreboard up, but how many of those clamoring for him would also be losing their minds when our defense has their hands on their hips two quarters in every game and giving up Shoop numbers, because that's exactly what you get with his system. Scrap all this hurry up (and get off the field if you don't execute) offense that puts much more pressure on your D and give me an X's and O's guy that knows to get into 12/21 personnel on the goal line and punch it in, but can spread the ball around to the playmakers and let them make plays

As much as people on this board would love for it to be true the world and UT for that matter don't revolve around the Haslems. Do they have input and the ear of the AD more than you and I? Sure. Are they the sole decision makers? No

I know they're not sole decision makers but they fund everything and they want us to be a school like UVA. I take pride in academics but when it comes down to it I'd much rather see us excel in sports than academics.

That might have been the case ten years ago. It is no longer the case now. There are so many schools willing to pony up significant dollars that just throwing money at the guy you want is not nearly enough.

I disagree, especially in the case of someone like Chip Kelly that's willing to come back to football or a lower level coach not making enough. I'm not sure how ridiculous the number has to get for "anyone" but I believe it's there.

Yep and I hate bandwagon fans in all sports.

If this is true, that has to mean they are done, right?

I figured this was coming from the get go, the amount of money that was allegedly stolen was far and away over a felony amount but, I wasn't sure whether any of them would be suspended for any amount of significant time.

There's no way they can bring them back now.

Wouldn't it be funny if more players were implicated , ruled ineligible , and Florida had to vacate all their wins.

Great look.

Not really. I've lost faith that Butch will ever take the next step, but there is a right way to do something and there's a classless way to do something. Painting "Fire Butch" has no impact on the situation other than giving the media fodder for portraying the TN fan base as backwards rednecks. Support the program, and let the season play out. What's going to happen will happen. Painting stupid stuff on the rock has zero positive impacts and zero influence on the decision to fire him.

Fan support is a variable in retaining a coach.

Exactly. It only harms the program.

If you personally feel Tennessee can do better then you should support a vocal opposition to failure. A move will not be made if the administration does not feel pressure.

What happens if the next guy fails and then the next guy after that? I guess we're just Notre Dame?

For my part, I plan to simply enjoy the season. Waited too long for football season to sit around and be miserable and feel conflicted about pulling for my team. I personally hope Butch turns this thing around, although I won't defend him anymore if he makes big mistakes.

Painting a stupid rock has zero impact. All it serves is to make the fanbase look like a bunch of morons. If you want to affect a coaching change, write a well thought out letter to the UTAD. Make it a reasonable, well constructed letter that is non-confrontational, absent of knee jerk and four letter words. If you give to the university, tell them you're done until you see what you desire. Money talks, bull shat wlks (painting "Fire Butch" on rocks).

How about trusting a new AD to make the best decision without invoking harm to the program?

Currie has done nothing to lose our trust

All of this protesting might be better received once the season is actually a failure, say after the 5th loss. Although highly unlikely, at this stage the final ourcome could still be the NC.
