So Butch's contract runs through 2020. It seems as though an extension would need to happen after this season to show support and avoid negative recruiting. I think he's either extended after the season and here for a while or Currie goes in a different direction. I don't think you can go into next year without addressing the contract.

Does that mean that Dormady would have over-thrown him even more if he ran the right route? I respect Ainge and if that's what Callaway said, then so be it. We still could and should have overcome it and won the game.

I personally don't think QD is a bad QB. But the system we run doesn't fit him at all and makes him look worse. He needs to keep the ball at least 5-7 times a game to keep the defense guessing. His decision making needs to greatly improve but I attribute that to being his first year starting

True FR have led SEC teams to big wins the past few years. QD is a JR with three years in the system. JG has two years in the system. Both were 4* recruits. And neither is where we need them to be. They have a week and a half to get there.

I think that's why Dormady double clutched and that's why he threw it inaccurately. May have gotten hit too, can't remember.

So on a play that we needed 10+ yards to convert on 3rd down, the play was actually supposed to be 4 yards shorter and Dormady still threw it 9 1/2 feet high at the 9 yard spot?


I still feel the same. 50/50 shared responsibility. It was a bad pass and a tough catch.

Actually I would say the 2015 Vols were in the same league as the 2002 Gators. You can argue all day about which one was better, but Spurrier's timing was no coincidence. I'd put them in the same tier.

Frankly, Zook was the one who restocked the talent in that program.

It seems a lot of the fan base can't accept the fact that everyone said we are a 7-5 to 9-3 team and when reality hits they can't accept it and want Butch fired. Unless there is an unexpected loss to vandy or ky that would put him in line with projections and I believe he will be here next year coaching east or bust next year

No excuse losing to that Florida team. They are trash. The only way a team with our caliber players doesn't win that game is if coaching isn't bringing their potential out. Time for a coach who can maximize potential.

Other programs fire coaches that are better than the ones we hire. Not really a winning strategy for a program that expects to be elite.

Well we should win more with the East like it is. And coaching is the reason.

Wonder if he misheard it. I heard Callaway mention yesterday he ran a route too short assumed it was that one but I haven't bothered to watch the game to see if that made sense. Can't bring myself to watching it.

Regardless it's clear timing is off and probably part of QD problem. He wants to time the route and throw where supposed to be and it ends in disaster then if he tries to throw where they are at it's behind them.

Solutions just run the dang ball all day lol

I could have misheard it but I swear that's what Ainge said lol. I just watched it a minute ago and I think it was supposed to be a 10 yard hitch and Callaway ran a 9 yard hitch

I agree we should have beat them but it didn't happen. What was your win/loss prediction for the year? We all knew Florida was who they were all off season. Decent to good defense no offense. That game didn't show me any difference. We haven't beaten fl in Gainesville in 16 years I undervalued that. That monkey is still hanging on our back.

I thought 8-4 to 9-3 which is still in the cards. All depends on Georgia and the rest of the east.

I don't think it's any coincidence that almost every beat writer in town says JG isn't ready. He didn't look good against Indiana State. I do think he will be the better QB in the long run but as of now he isn't. Butch even said they didn't trust him enough to take a snap under center at the 1 yard line for a sneak. If QD looks horrible vs Georgia I will be ready for a change

We lost a lot to the draft and our senior QB. With the injuries last year and before this year it was too unknown what we had. S&C really set us back last year. You really only go as far as your QB will take you and that was the big unknown going into the season. So far he hasn't taken the next steps to improve from the first of the year and it's shown.
