Sorry i may be a little sensitive but lately people have been going crazy with this grammar police **** so it just hit a nerve haha, I apologize for overreacting a bit.

In his one year, Jay coached up the RBs he had better than they had been coached up previously. He kept us in the hunt for some big names in recruiting and was the sole reason for some of those recruits' interest(per various articles). He helped sign several of the key players in this class. What did the former Cincinnati staff do?

So you are saying.. He did his job, what he was already getting paid pretty well to do.

won 4 conference championships in 6 years.

Not in the SEC. BTW, I seem to recall Dooley beating them. That says a lot.

Not trying to engage in a pissing contest, but Jay Graham has done more to earn our respect than Butch Jones. Do I hope Butch succeeds? Hell yes I do, but I'm not going to blindly follow another coach just because he's UT's coach. Let's wait for him to prove something. And by prove something, I mean in the SEC on a week in, week out basis. Until that happens, I'm not going to join in on the stroke CBJ's ego game everyone seems to want and play. When he does something good, I have no problem saying "good job!". When he does something bad, I have no problem saying he screwed up. I deal in reality, not wishful thinking.

Great news. We won't miss a beat with this hire. Potentially an upgrade since he's familiar with the spread/speed/fun-n-gun offenses. My fears have been relieved.

Improved RBs, top recruiter on the staff this past season, yeah, I'm saying he did his job pretty damn well, and he was doing it at an SEC school, not at a school in a second rate conference. He did it well enough for FSU to offer him a better contract.

Dooley beat them because he had better players. Talent takes over. MTSU could have the best coach in the nation but would never beat Bama with a bad coach.

The reason why CBJ hasnt won an SEC title is because he hasnt had a chance too. A good coach is a good coach.

Thats stupid because he did it with Not-SEC talent with Not-SEC resources and having to sell Cincinnati on kids, not Tennessee

As for Dooley beating him, A healthy Tennessee team with Darick, Justin and Tyler beat Cincinnatti. No matter the coach that should happen every time.

What has Graham done as a coach to earn this high high regard. Look, i get hes a very good coach, and he played here, but that doesnt mean he is the best RB coach in the world.

I dont agree with your negative outlook also, Butch has done 100x more than Dooley did before he came here, and has not only been backed by random fans, but many former players and many many reporters around the nation as well as some highly regarded recruits. Why cant you just support your team and staff? go root for someone else if you only support us when we win.

Much like the VFL argument, the second rate conference argument is inherently flawed, because Said coaches exceeded their job expectations in a level playing field. Basic reasoning determines that a more major conference will carry a larger talent base, resulting in a high probability that said coach will again exceed expectations.

exactly, Urban Meyer was winning in the MAC before the SEC....didnt really miss a beat

Average hire at best... now no ties to tenn on this staff n all on cbj.. its all about wins.... please no he is doing it the right way n I like him so lets give him 5 years.. I heard so much of that crap with dools it was sickening ..... tn is bigger than any one person so if he doesn't win run his butt out of town..

He has two years to prove he deserves the tn job n 8 wins in year one or why pay him 3m..

People quit getting attached to these coaches they r paid to perform via wins...that's it.

Gbo n beat GA.......

Won 19-20 games and a couple of bowl games... You asked. Regarding recruiting, flipped 8 kids in 2 months, got a top 20 class in 2 months despite program being in the toilet. By the way I think Jay did a very good job in the short time he was here. Wish he hadn't left but CBJ is doing as good job so far and just made as close to a Homerun hire as you can get IMHO.

All due respect but you don't have to blindly follow CBJ, just open your eyes and see that he's done some good things here in 3 months time, including a damn good replacement hire of CJG.

Not a home run hire, Should be ok though. It all depends on what he is demanded by the head coach. My guess is if he don't pull a real RB in his 2nd year, he'll be let go like Jay graham. It's not like we couldn't have kept Jay if we thought he was worth it.
Chit, Go Vols!!

Don't mention his championships in a weaker conference if you don't want the fact they were won in a weaker conference used against you. I used the ammo you provided.

Jay has done more for UT as a player and coach than Butch has so far. Please note I said so far.

You know what's worse than the grammar police? The "I get to decide who is and isn't a fan" crowd. My outlook isn't negative, it's realistic. I'm waiting to see if he can actually coach in the SEC before I declare him the next big thing. I support the team always. I support the coach when he wins. Let's be clear. There is the team, and there is the coach. They are not one and the same. I'm a Vol fan, not a support Butch Jones whether he wins or loses fan. I guarantee if CBJ doesn't do a good job, all the votes of support will disappear.

No home run, but I don't think we lost anything. After losing Graham, we could have done much worse. I'll judge this as a ground rule double.

What would have worked was paying him what he deserved when the new salaries were decided. Only one coach on staff was getting paid less. Hart and Jones basically smacked him in the face. I don't blame Jay for leaving.

But what's done is done. Hopefully Gillespie can do a good job, but I'd prefer Jay was still here. Now we have no former Vols on the immediate coaching staff.

People need to stop blaming Jay and just admit Jones screwed up on this one. He took care of his guys and left JG out in the cold. It's not unforgivable. We can get past it. But Jones screwed up.

link ? because not many people are buying the sh&t you are trying to sell.
