Shaka Smart Not Interested in TN Job And is Willing to Wait for "Perfect Job"

Why the f does everyone seem to want Frank? Just cause of the NBA bit? Cause he coached a team to a below .500 record over a long haul of 6 years let's remember.

Um, also, he never even played college bball...

I'm not saying he doesn't have bball accumen or coaching ability, but just don't see why a lot of people are hanging on his nuts, is all.

Pearl didn't play college ball either.

Personally, I think it is open season on Pearl considering the bind he has gotten the program into

That's pretty much where I'm at. I think we saw his true character in this and I'd be surprised if he ever got a good D1 job again.

Pearl will coach again. He can win and I can easily see him going to a smaller conference and reviving a program. It Todd Bozeman can come back from what he did, Pearl can come back from this. Remember, no money changed hands with Pearl.

It took Todd Bozeman 10 years and he's at Morgan State.

With an 8 year show cause. That's my point. If that guy can make it back, Pearl can too. If he gets a two year show cause he could be coaching by the time he hits 55. Small school AD would give him a shot for a 10 year run.

Come on. It's very easy to turn down jobs that you haven't been offered nor even had a discussion about. Pearl was good at it.

THIS.

Kentucky had to endure every freakin coach on the planet turning down a job they were never offered because the media would not stop asking anyone they felt like asking. The list is...

Rick Branes
Rick Barnes
Rick Barnes
Jamie Dixon
Joe boeheim
Jay Wright
Tom Izzo (even though he left the question open)
Sean Miller

And there are more. These guys were NEVER offered the HC position at UK. Most of all of them were never even contacted. But ALL of them "turned down" the "job" the MEDIA was offering them. Read nothing into it. If Shaka Smart was ACTUALLY OFFERED the job, he would take it.:eek:k:

Agreed. Not that it matters, but I wish the media would shoot down these coaches "rejections" for jobs they were never offered. Makes them look just silly.

Coaching search is Just like the stock market never buy a stock when it's hot it will cost you to much and it may have peaked already. Glad Shaka is not interested...

If he said he was interested while his team is in the round of eight, he should be gutted and quartered.

Now, when the season is over, his interest may perk up tremendously.

After watching them tonight, I was impressed. He did a lot more in-game coaching (or at least it appeared that way watching him on the sideline) than I was expecting.
