Spurrier being Spurrier. Takes a jab at UT

My parents use to socialize/party with Steve and Jerry while he was coaching here in Durham. I have heard quite a few stories from them over the years, and even witnessed the Ole Ball Coach in good spirits when I was with them on occasion when we would go back to the coach's office at Duke after a game. I was just a little guy back then, 7 or 8 years old, but I remember him slugging some Miller Lite's back in the day after games. Dude's a Pro. Look at me. Pro.

Whatever....another cool story bro. Spurrier openly admits to drinking a few after games. Big deal I know lots of people that drink a few. That doesn't make them "pro's at drinking". Look at me. LMAO

It was kind of a joke man. I wasn't being critical of SOS , actually I was kind of praising him. Trust me, I'm not going to be knocking on someone for having a few.

The "look at me" thing is a quote from a movie. I guess you didn't see that one. I have a tendency to do that.

I have to say he tells the truth about the coaches . But I still don't like the man.I think Butch has got his number unlike Coach Fulmer .

In what universe is a 213-78-2 record, 6 SEC championships, 1 National Championship, a Heisman Trophy, and ten years in the National Football League "not elite"?

No offense, man, but you've gone off the deep end. I hate that I love Spurrier, but he's a future Hall of Fame coach and it's not even really questionable.

The same universe where Manning didn't build Lucas Oil Stadium.

I love it. It shows that Spurrier is worried about his team going in and stirring up a hornets nest. I have to admit he has owned every TN coach since he's been in the sec. But I got a good feeling that the tables are going to turn when coach Jones gives him a BUTCH slapping. GO VOLS!

Not really. It's when Spurrier is talking and taking shots that you should be worried.

When was that 90, 91? It's sad but Spurrier has owned the Vols during his career.

Spurrier is funny as hell. That was a jab, but a good-natured one. He says stuff like that because he knows you guys who take everything so seriously are going to get worked up about it. I hate losing to him, but Spurrier's awesome.

Agree. Over time I've come to appreciate who and what he is. The game and our conference are better when he's relevant.

As usual, VN got riled up over what's basically a nonevent.
You guys want fries with that? I'm having Kona coffee, buckwheat
pancakes, Morning Star sausage patties, with fresh mango, banana,
and pear puree slightly heated smothering my pancakes. Won't be
thinking of Spurrier until after the game. Darn it, stuck here and had to
give my tickets to a disabled couple we know. Well for now, BREAKFAST TIME!
Spurrier isn't invited.

Yep. He hardly ever sleeps on the Vols no matter how weak we are. Maybe 2009, but how the heck was he supposed to take Kiffin seriously?

I think Shaw said Spurrier always get a little more animated for Tennessee week.

He needs to stop saying NAY-land stadium, though. He knows better. :realmad: :disappointed:

I actually think that is pretty funny. I think he needs to hire coach Orgeron as his d-line coach. They both love to shed their shirts.
