Stacey Abrams chosen to give Democratic response to Trump's State of the Union

If Trump were governed by the same laws as Lincoln he would have repay his creditors anyway. Which Lincoln did.

And of course it's well known Trump just skipped out on many debts.

He didn't just skip out on many debts, unless you are discounting using an evil lawyer to legally avoid them.

So you believe yourself to be more intelligent based on what exactly? For whatever reason, I actually like you Luther, but you continually go off your "feels" more than you do the facts. Is that your definition of intelligence? People that "feel" like you?

As for trolling, we all do it from time to time. It's a natural occurrence. But it doesn't hurt to call it out every so often just to point out we've diverged from intelligent dialogue and into petty bickering.
I know roughly where I land on the intelligence continuum. I think intelligence has little to do with the knowledge of facts (that's more education), and more to do with the ability to reason and think. Some of the least intelligent people I've ever meet were loaded with facts. (and they always seem to equate factual knowledge with intelligence)
I often fall into the petty bickering trap, but intelligent dialogue seems virtually impossible at times.

There certainly seems to be no rhyme nor reason to who we end up liking on this board, take '72 for instance.
For whatever reason, I like you also, and actually enjoy reading and considering your posts. You come across as a very decent, level headed, and intelligent man.

Really? The guy started a civil war that killed hundreds of thousands of Americans because he was a narcissistic, amoral sleaze bag.
lol....I'll use my better judgement and not offer a response.

The biggest difference would be that Lincoln wasn't a selfish, narcissistic, amoral sleaze bag.

Lincoln was a lawyer and started an unnecessary war that took a lot of lives ... so there is that. Of course he did a little martial law, suspended a few constitutional rights, and violated the constitution in allowing a new state to illegally secede from an established state while fighting a war against secession (that's a bit quirky to say the least).

And, you know, that a few years earlier good ole Abe wrote that if citizens found they were unhappy with their government they should rise up and change it ... guess he evolved.

And here I thought Kirsten Gillibrand invented that.

Yeah, he did. He knew the people he owed money to couldn't afford to fight him in court. He's just a petty swindler on top of so many other moral failures.

Lol, he's not "getting out of them..." He totally skips out on his debts, he's a scumbag. None of the following should be remotely surprising.

USA TODAY exclusive: Hundreds allege Donald Trump doesn’t pay his bills

Trump’s companies have also been cited for 24 violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act since 2005 for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage, according to U.S. Department of Labor data. That includes 21 citations against the defunct Trump Plaza in Atlantic City and three against the also out-of-business Trump Mortgage LLC in New York. Both cases were resolved by the companies agreeing to pay back wages.

In addition to the lawsuits, the review found more than 200 mechanic’s liens — filed by contractors and employees against Trump, his companies or his properties claiming they were owed money for their work — since the 1980s. The liens range from a $75,000 claim by a Plainview, N.Y., air conditioning and heating company to a $1 million claim from the president of a New York City real estate banking firm. On just one project, Trump’s Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, records released by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission in 1990 show that at least 253 subcontractors weren’t paid in full or on time, including workers who installed walls, chandeliers and plumbing.

The actions in total paint a portrait of Trump’s sprawling organization frequently failing to pay small businesses and individuals, then sometimes tying them up in court and other negotiations for years. In some cases, the Trump teams financially overpower and outlast much smaller opponents, draining their resources. Some just give up the fight, or settle for less; some have ended up in bankruptcy or out of business altogether.

Like I said, employing evil lawyers.

Don't forget the evil lawyers who write bankruptcy legislation. The world would be a better place if we banned lawyers from legislative, regulatory, and three letter agencies.

The jock sniffing and nut hugging to prop up this scumbag as a businessman is hilarious. When he's not stiffing his employees, he's welching on his creditors.

Hey, what do you expect. Isn't he a business school grad ... you know the university branch that people like the Haslams think they own and bless with their own values. Why would you expect anything different?

It would be interesting to know how many were stiffed and etc. I would think the unionized construction industry in NY probably has some inside muscle to deter such BS behavior
