Star Wars 7?

Knights of the Old Republic has endless possibilities.

And I am so happy that a new Star Wars is coming out...I needed something to take my mind off of the fire coach, hire coach, we are keeping coach rumors.

I agree. I hope sooner or later the Knights of the Old Republic story line is tackled.

They should just completely make new characters for this new trilogy. Don't use Luke/Leila/Han. Maybe use their kids...but it'd be a huge turn off to have different actors playing the same characters. A whole new storyline would be great.

Would be pretty interested to see how an old republic storyline turns out. Not sure I want them to continue anything involving the OT characters. There's too much for them to ruin and just wish they would stay away from that at all costs honestly.

Lucas jacked up his own franchise with episodes 1-3; they were putrid. Remember trying to force yourself to like them?!

Believe it or not, this is actually good news.

YES! I clearly remember trying to convince myself phantom menace was good. I would say "if it wasn't for Jar Jar..." but there is so much more wrong with that movie than just Jar Jar.

Eh, to each their own. I never have minded the preguels to be completely honest. I thought episode III was pretty amazing, minus the terrible dialogue in parts.

III was okay despite knowing exactly how it was going to end. Overall, between the convoluted political storyline, the vapid acting and the over use of green screen sets, the prequels just seem soulless.

Lucas is donating 4 bil of the sale to education.

George Lucas Will Donate Disney $4 Billion To Education

Say what you will about him as a screenwriter or director, but he's a top notch dude.

He's liberal. Money isn't his driving pursuit. His thoughts are he had more than enough money and whats another million goimg to do sitting in the bank. That was badically his response when asked why he sold Pixar to Steve Jobs for a fraction of what it was worth simply because he wasn't doing anything with it.

This!

fight scenes in III were decent - but I cringe anytime anyone opens their mouths in the prequels.

Subdued dialog and zero emotion; I've seen better acting in 5th grade plays!

All this Star Wars talk made me finally cave in and buy the complete saga on Blu Ray.

I've considered buying the original trilogy but by passing the prequels. It's way down my wish lists though. I don't really buy movies anymore but one day inthe next few years I want my little boy to watch them.

So the general belief is that Harrison Ford hates Star Wars and would not return to the franchise. But..

Last week, there was a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of nerds cried out and were suddenly silenced. Okay, maybe it wasn’t that dramatic, but it was a pretty big deal when Disney bought Lucasfilm and announced plans for a new series of Star Wars sequels.

Since then, we’ve debated the pros and cons of the news, and have also reported on all of the speculation about Star Wars: Episode 7, including today’s rumor that X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn is in the running to direct the film.

Now, we’ve got another interesting piece of news to share. According to an exclusive report from Geoff Boucher (who has happily landed on his feet at Entertainment Weekly after leaving his gig at the L.A. Times), none other than Han Solo himself has allegedly expressed interest in returning to a galaxy far, far away.

The report quotes sources close to Harrison Ford who say that the iconic actor is “open to the idea of doing the movie” and, moreover, is “upbeat about it.” Obviously, being “open” to doing the movie is a long stretch from actually doing it, and it’s not like the 70-year-old actor is getting any younger. However, if he’s genuinely interested in returning to one of his most famous roles, it can only be a good thing for Star Wars fans.

After all, this is the same actor who told ABC News back in 2010 that he didn’t actually like playing the character of Han Solo that much and was actually hoping that Lucas would kill him off in Return of the Jedi, quipping that he didn’t because “George didn’t think there was any future in dead Han toys.”

Presumably, if Ford returned to the big screen for a Star Wars sequel, it would be alongside his two costars, Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia). In a recent interview, Hamill discussed plans for the sequels to focus on entirely new stories to satisfy fans’ desires for “more and more and more material.”

Nevertheless, it’s entirely possible that Lucas and company could throw in the original trio in expanded cameo roles, much in the same way that Leonard Nimoy played an important role in the new Star Trek film.

Whatever path they decide to take, it’s certainly an exciting development to learn that Ford is interested in returning to one of the film’s that catapulted him to worldwide fame. I was one of the few people that actually enjoyed Ford in Indiana Jones 4, so I would be more than happy to see him strap on the blaster one more time as Han Solo.

'Star Wars' sequel: Harrison Ford open to idea of Han Solo role -- EXCLUSIVE | Inside Movies | EW.com

Could be Ford was just not in love with the idea of doing a movie directed and written by Lucas. He did once tell Lucas, "You can write this ****, but you can't say it." I would say he's smart enough to recognize that Lucas, being a good idea guy, is in the ideal role for this project as a consultant.

Personally, if the old cast is to return, I would rather it just be minor roles. I think their story has been told.

In related news, Disney is also rumored to be in talks to purchase Hasbro. Would love to see Disney tackle a Transformers movie in an animated style. Would be much better than the Michael Bay stuff we've been getting.

Volwark already posted it, but saw this this morning:

Harrison Ford says he is open to another

The magazine spoke to a "highly placed source," who said, "Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he's upbeat about it." The mystery source "close to the just-announced 'Star Wars' sequel" went on to explain that Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) are equally enthusiastic about the possibilities.

It's been 29 years since Ford last played the lovable scoundrel. According to legend, the actor very much wanted his character to be killed off in "Return of the Jedi." However, George Lucas ixnayed the idea. In a 2010 interview with ABC News, Ford said, "I thought he should have died in the last one to give it some bottom... George didn't think there was any future in dead Han toys."

It really surprises me about Ford. He's said for years he had no desire to play Han again. Money talks, I guess.

Very interesting indeed. I love Star Wars. Vader is prolly the best character of all time. First thing that needs to happen is a new death star sent to destroy the home planet of Jar Jar Binks!

That would mean Naboo, which is also Luke Skywalker's mother's home planet.

No one would mind as long as the stench of Jar Jar is dead.

And on the Han thing I would hope that Harrison Ford stays out of this one...Indiana Jones 4 was enough for me...new stories please.
